   I have lived in hove for 10 years and this shop is amazing, especially the staff! Yusef and the Welsh gentleman (sorry I always forget his name) are always so welcoming. Staff like that is what makes you want to come back! I have just left the area but wanted to write a great review about them as they have made living near that shop a pleasure! Amazing staff members and creates a want to go back to the shop! Will miss our daily interactions

   It makes me wonder why some people would right a bad review about the staff at Budgens in Hove as they are very friendly and helpful at all times. I often watch the staff help customers getting in and out of the shop when the customer is disabled. They help mothers with prams, dog owners they often give treats for their pets. A few people like to yell and make themselves a ruddy nuisance, but they take the blunt end of it, and don't put fuel on the fire. I am always greeted by Joseph like he is one of my family, smiling and helpful; even when he is worn out at the end of his shift he is kind and helpful. That takes a lot of spirit to be this way. Some people are very jumpy, over the top with alcohol or drugs, but hey, the staff at Budgens take it in their stride. God bless to them with so much heart

   There's another shop closer to my house but I always go to the Budgens because every single member of staff is really friendly and nice (particularly Josef the manager). They also do some really good discounts on things so you can get big supermarket type special offers from the convenience of your local shop. Always absolutely pristine as well.

   PLEASE BE CAREFUL THERE ! was very alarmed and worried after an encounter with the stuff there , a guy I don’t know of black background , tried to get my phone and my stuff from my hands as I left it on the counter to pay for my cigs . It was alarming behaviour that even the customer after me asked if I’m okey , i don’t know if he thought it was a joke or something but I felt very alarming . Because imagine a guy you don’t know trying to crab your phone and your stuff from your hands when you pull out your wallet to pay. After that I took a moment and came back to find the shop he saw me from the window and wouldn’t stop steering at me VERY UNCOMFORTABLE ESPECIALLY FOR A WOMAN

   I was very upset for the staff in Budgen's Church Road Hove. The staff are so great but the shop itself is falling apart. Nothing seems to work. The electronics at the counter are often playing up and now even the radio has stopped working due to the laptop falling apart. One of the joys of going in Budgens was the cheery staff enjoying the music which often brings joy to everyone who visit. Who ever owns this store needs to do a serious revamp. It's a very busy shop and the expense of a laptop renewed and rewiring to the main speakers is not really alot...
