Fairly decent selection of goods.

This store is in a very convenient location for local residents, and a lucrative position given that it is directly opposite a primary school (and picks up drop-off and pick-up trade Monday to Friday). It is also ideally located next to a bus stop that serves people who are returning home from work and need to pop in somewhere quick to collect dinner. The staff (customer assistants) are hard working, friendly and helpful. However the store frequently runs out of stock and takes days to recover stock levels. Whatever system they are using for replenishment isn't proactive enough in knowing what sells and what to send in. This store should be packet-perfect at all times, with maximum availability for customers. It is not. But the real reason I am writing this review is that the store has two manned checkouts, and three self-scan. Of the three self-scan checkouts, the one furthest from the store's entrance is the only one that you can use. The middle self-scan has been out of service for MONTHS. And the self-scan closest to the counter that I used this morning hardly scans at all. It is in a decrepit state and to be honest, almost unusable. I do not see how Management haven't got this sorted by now. The central self-scan needs fixing completely, and the issues with the self-scan closest to the counter is an absolute nightmare to use. I feel like the staff at the store are being let down by this, as it makes for a frustrating shopping experience and it's not their fault at all. Management should be on this. If customers can't easily scan their shopping, they are either going to walk out with their items, or just turn around and go somewhere else for their shopping.

I left a bag containing my concertina in this store by mistake last night and the staff found it and kept it for me. They couldn't have been more helpful.

Lovely hard working staff but stock issues mean I go elsewhere. Eg no sultanas on shelf for weeks, strawberry shortage in summer, no pitta bread in stock, no feta cheese. Sainsbury’s down the road is more reliable and often cheaper. Also it would be good to see more loose veg as I live alone so multipacks are not good value (plus adds to packaging waste).

Every time i go in this shop i rarely come out with what i need, As they never seem to have much at all in stock!!! They add a pound to everything so super expensive and for the service its an absolute joke I think a be a few mins if that to get what i need and it takes up 7+ mins for one item as the staff are slow and generally only one person on the till Thank god that sharon woman left! As she was the absolute slowest. It's a S**t of a shop - your better of going to the one at the end of the road or even Sainsburys

Terrible at stock management and the special offers are rubbish that just try to get you to buy more stuff you don't need. Consistently one of the worst supermarkets.

This must be the store where the most unhappiest and grumpiest staff work, I have no choice but to use your store because I am lazy, however, it is never a pleasure shopping there. You ask for something, you get a blunt reply: No. Okay, then thanks. Don't even bother telling me when it's next in or anything will you!! Whoever does the gap report is clearly rubbish at it, the shelves are always empty. Never have what you want, and the range for the area is ridiculous. And when you decide you want to pay for your stuff, the staff look like they don't want to be there.. no hello, no smile, just a straight up 'do you want a bag' not, would you like a bag, no conversation, no eye contact, no thank you and NO goodbye, today, I was served by a blonde lady... Either she just didn't like me, or she had lost her tounge. She made me feel quite uncomfortable and like I was a hendrince for being there and taking up her time. As an ex coop manager - I'd be ashamed of this shop and the staff that run it. It's never a pleasure, the staff are rude, the shelves are always empty.... I find myself venturing down the other end of Portland road... To Sainsbury's or the other Coop which is 100x better. #sortitout.
