Have been a customer since 2014. Would never go anywhere else. Professional quality service. Astounded. Increased price £18.50. 33%. For repairs that normally is £50.
I always try and use independent retailers rather than impersonal chains, but I’ll never use this store again. The level of quality is so bad that it isn’t actually measurable. I think they may have given the boots to a blind work experience student to mend! Absolutely appalling.
I took a pair of boarding boots in to see if a small area of stitching could be repaired. I would have been fine if they couldn’t do it whereas they have been butchered and damaged to such an extent that they are totally unwearable! Offered a tin of polish to compensate! Not sure if they have changed hands but will never go there again!
Exceptional service from an exceptional lady. I called 10 minutes after closing and Lorraine answered. I explained that my mum's feet were swollen and she was in desperate need of some wide fitting shoes. She told me to come down and she would give us a private shopping experience. Lorraine who normally works on a Monday /Tuesday but was working overtime on a Saturday stayed for an extra hour [probably unpaid] helping my mum choose the right footwear for her swollen feet. Lorraine was kind, sympathetic and friendly to my nearly 80-year-old mother. I can't thank her highly enough – she's amazing!
Have used this cobblers for years. They have rescued my boots and brogues many times. I often leave the heels and soles too long and they can build them back up, make them look as good as new again and give them another six months life. All leather soles or rubber grips make your choice neatly stitched on. Never had any problem even when I have been late to collect. Great service and I highly recommend them. About to drop in another pair of boots the heels are worn, but I know they will come back as new.
I took some leather shoes that need some simple stitches and they ruined them! They didn't stitch them through the initial hole and they also glued them! Horrible work. Also, initially they said it costs £7 but when when i went to collect them the lady charged me £8.50. I don't recommend going there.
A quaint, family run cobblers nestled just outside Bedford town centre. The staff are friendly, polite and ever so helpful. Thier wares are of the highest calibre, providing classic, timeless shoes, shoe care and good quality repairs with a level of service that is hard to find these days. They are, without reservation, the best store of thier kind for miles around. I have been a patron for many years, as has my father, and I will continue to be for many years to come!
