Extremely awful experience. Thought we would pop in for a quick drink before attending an event scheduled for 4pm. I was waiting at the bar for over 20 minutes as they kept on serving everyone but me. People went over and got served instantly despite the fact I had been waiting for ages. Such an infuriating experience. I was standing front and centre and still nothing. I have worked in several bars throughout my life and that kind of service would not be tolerated. The boy with the long hair and girl were to busy chatting away and pleasing who they liked first. Never coming here again, completely ruined my afternoon.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We had a great party at Southern Belle. Breakfasts were excellent. The only criticism - the music was too loud in the bar.

The Southern Belle was ideally located for my conference trip to Brighton. The rooms were lovely and the bar and food downstairs was excellent! Wendy looked after us so well in the bar, where local people enjoyed the relaxed and friendly ambience. Wednesday night was a special treat when quite a few musicians assembled to play their lovely folk music. It was excellent !

What can I say. These guys are amazing. A very chilled place. The rooms were good, clean, comfortable and a good standard. The food was great, a very good breakfast and amazing Sunday lunch. The main thing is the staff were amazing. Sam, Wendy and Rob to name a few. (Sorry to the manageress whose name I’ve forgotten!) we will definitely be back again.

I couldn't recommend the Southern Belle more highly. The hotel is beautifully decorated, short walk from the lanes with absolutely lovely food. The best thing is the staff and atmosphere though - this made our stay really special and gives the bar downstairs a real local vibe. Will definitely be back!

Lovely boutique style hotel, minute from sea front. Room good size, comfortable bed, tea & coffee facilities. Limited storage. Large lovely bathroom with great shower. Staff friendly. Breakfast was nice but expensive if not included in room price.

Just back from a night in Brighton. This place is a little gem. The staff are outstanding and extremely friendly. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable beds. Great location and the breakfast was outstanding! Lindsey, not Logan, robbins x

The room is really great, but be aware that though it lists as a hotel on most sites, it's more of a pub restaurant that also has rooms. Being on the first floor above the dining space meant noise well into the late night on a weekend.

It’s a lovely place, buuuuut don’t stay at this hotel unless you're ok with LOUD MUSIC. At least in room 5. The music bumps so loud that earplugs won’t even help until 12am. Everyone here is really nice, but the noise is a huge problem for a hotel. After 12 it’s fine.

Staff were excellent. Delicious food and stunning cocktails. I stayed in the Deluxe Double room which was a treat - beautifully decorated and bed was super comfy. Right on the seafront in a quieter, more peaceful part of Brighton, but only a walk/ bus away from the action. Perfect for a long weekend away, I would definitely come again!!
