Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was not satisfactory. The entrance doors were extremely noisy when closing, and even from inside the room, the sound of doors slamming would wake us up. This seriously affected the quality of our rest. Another major issue was the room key cards. Almost every day, the key would become deactivated, and when returning to our room, the door wouldn’t open. We had to go back to reception repeatedly, which was very inconvenient. The toilet flush system had serious problems, and overall, the level of service did not match the price we paid at all. Additionally, on the second day, when we went for breakfast, it was not self-service. We were told we had to order instead, which was quite strange for a hotel. Overall, based on this experience, I would not choose this hotel again and would not recommend it for accommodation.

We hosted our Kingsway Care 2025 Awards at the Mercure Brighton Seafront and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. From booking through to the event itself, the team were absolutely fantastic — supportive, responsive and genuinely kind. Nothing felt like too much trouble, including last-minute changes, and their calm, professional approach made a huge difference. They even helped serve desserts on the night, which really says a lot. The hotel looked beautiful. Our guests were blown away by the Christmas tree, the ballroom and the overall atmosphere — it felt special and very well looked after. Catering for 90 people is no small task, but the dinner was excellent and we received brilliant feedback from our guests. It exceeded expectations. One small suggestion for future events would be improved accessibility — a ramp would have helped some visitors, particularly while the lifts were temporarily out of service. We managed fine in the end, but worth noting. Overall, a genuinely successful evening and a wonderful team to work with. We’d happily return and would absolutely recommend the Mercure for events.

I had the most wonderful stay at the Mercure Brighton for my friend’s hen weekend. The staff went above and beyond to look after us, and they even surprised the bride-to-be with a beautiful room upgrade, which made the weekend feel extra special. Everyone on the team was friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. It was my first time in Brighton, and this hotel made it memorable from start to finish. We all felt incredibly spoilt and so well cared for. I’ll definitely be returning on my next visit. Highly recommend!

My husband booked this hotel for my birthday getaway and we loved it. We were greeted warmly at reception and were given a free room upgrade as part of our stay — we didn’t catch the name of the lovely staff member who put us in the balcony room, but would really like to thank her for the kindness. The room was great, very clean, it had a view of the sea and it was nice to get fresh air into the room. Location is wonderful, so central in Brighton or Hove, meaning we could get anywhere by foot. We’ve been a couple of times and the lobby has had an uplift in recent months too. The hotel keeps getting better!

Located by the sea front, beautiful view of the beach from our room. Old building but modern bathrooms. Furniture/bed were 4-star hotel quality. It was quiet stormy during our stay and we could hear the wind at night because of the single layered window. The breakfast room offered a nice view of the sea. Staff was friendly and choice was ok as well. It took about 10-15 minutes walk into town.

Lovely seafront view. Clean room of a good size with a stylish taste. The hotel has great access to the seafront and local attractions. Unfortunately having to take a few stars off as the room was delayed in being ready and the extras I paid for weren’t available. The windows were also leaky and moulding as well as the sash rope being broken on one of them, some TLC needed to the structure there. The on-site Restaurant was nice and food was served speedily with lovely staff.

I had a beautiful room (the suite) with a sea view. The reception and breakfast team were super helpful and made me feel welcome and looked after. I really liked the location because it was outside of Brighton city centre ... just a 10-minute walk down the coast from Brighton station. This meant it felt peaceful but close enough to 'the action'. I'd have no hesitation in returning to this hotel. :-)

Prior communication with the Hotel was easy and Marta was great as we had a couple of requests. When we checked in, Marta greeted us very warmly. We had a room with a balcony and the views of the sea were great and the room was very nicely decorated and a very comfortable bed. We had a meal at the hotel in the restaurant and it was delicious and the service was very professional. Breakfast time was a bit busy and the layout of the buffet is a bit squeezed but overall is good. We enjoyed our stay and would visit again

Stayed here over a weekend. The hotel is in a fantastic location on the seafront with comfortable, clean rooms. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bar is a nice place to sit with a drink looking out to sea with a decent, reasonably priced selection of drinks. Can’t comment on the food as we ate out both nights and had breakfast out. Charged parking is available but the car park is a bit tight.
