   I went to their pop-up bar at the loaf.microbakery and tried some great natural wines. The owners Benjamin and his brother were extremely knowledgeable and friendly, you can tell they’re in it for the passion and they always have something new and interesting. I definitely recommend stopping by their shop to buy styles of wine you may have never tasted before, and if they do more pop-ups you’ll definitely have a nice time there.

   I’m very happy to add to the wall of 5 star reviews for Substrata Wines! I wanted to send a gift of wine to a friend (she is in Norfolk; I am in Manchester). I sent an email to the enquiry box on a Saturday with my brief (vegan, rosé, delicious) and quite low expectations of receiving a reply. Tom replied within about 30 minutes with a friendly email detailing some recommendations - exactly what I hoping for - and not only stayed in touch after I had ordered but put tasting notes and a note to say that it was from me with the gift as well as letting me know when it would be, and had been, delivered. My friend was absolutely delighted with her wine and my faith has been fully restored: it is possible to be a brilliantly knowledgeable wine merchant and a thoroughly nice person!! Thank you Tom - I only wish it was a bit less of a trek from Manchester; the good people of Norwich are very lucky to have you!!

   Superb wine merchants with a fascinating collection of producers, including some unique to the UK. Excellent Antipodean small winery representation. Well worth a visit in person to get some advice and to appreciate their ethos. Can highly recommend the mixed cases, always something new to try.

   Quite simply the best. Ben and Tom are passionate and knowledgeable about proper, low intervention and delicious wines. Their recommendations are always on point. They have personal relationships with their suppliers which means that you get access to wines not normally found in the UK market. They occasionally host tastings and pop up bars at venues across Norwich which are always fun as you get to try a wider ranging variety of wines and discover new favourites.

   Tom and Ben have a really brilliant and thoughtful selection of wines. I'm not a big wine expert but I know what I like to drink so I can say to them I want something velvety and fruity and they always can recommend a wine that is delicious. Their customer service is great, they are both lovely and friendly and I've never been made to feel stupid because I don't know what a particular wine is (unlike some fancy wine shops I have been in). They helped me pick out a couple of red wines for my boyfriend for Christmas that were so smooth that we just closed our eyes and both said "mmmm". I can whole heartedly recommend stopping by and making a purchase or two.
