   The place stocks stationary and M&S Foods items. The prices are exorbitant. The variety is very limited. Stocking only finished goods items instead of raw and semi finished products and items with smaller portion sizes seems to be a conscious design at the part of the management. Furthermore, they are not open 24/7 and even get closed quite early on weekends. Ideally, the hospital should’ve a food place in vicinity that offers round the clock service to staff and patients, has a greater variety and the prices should be on the cheaper side.

3. The Peanut Travel ★★★★★

   The WH Smiths outside outpatients west, is a pretty decent shop. It has all the usual stuff you would associate with say, an airport Smiths. Books, snacks, refrigerated drinks, umbrellas, some stationery and all the other small edible and practical items you would expect. Marks and Spencer also stock a selection of ready to eat food and drink under this shop's roof. There are 2 self-service checkouts, as well as a staff operated till. I bought an item in error and the staff member was very happy to refund me quickly and amicably. Connected to the Smiths is a coffee shop called Coffee House. Visitors and medical staff can be seen to frequent this place, with it being quite busy at around 12pm, as you would expect. The coffee is reasonably priced at around £2.50 to £3 for a hot beverage. There is also a selection of cold drinks, and some sweet treats and sandwiches to choose from. This building is straight opposite the out patients West building. Handily, there is also a carpark ticket paying machine right outside the door.

   This place is quite expensive, it stocks M&S food, but it is very delicious, so worth the £5.00 for a chicken and bacon salad. It also sells small essentials that you may need like eye drops and small toiletries.

   There's not much food in the shop as it sell's out very fast and the staff don't restock very fast. The food is very, very over priced for a hospital shop and that's just wrong in my eye's and other people's eye's too. They sell coffee and tea but this too is very over priced for a hospital shop too. They sell sandwich's but not many pie's and that sort of thing's God known's why. As I'm sure they would sell good. WHSmith's sell's book's and magazine's and newspaper's but they too are well over priced too. Which is wrong in my eye's too. It's such a shame the hospital let's them do this to the patient's and visitor's to the hospital. WHSmith is not that good if you have a baby in a pushchair or it you have someone in a wheelchair as there's not that much room to move with a pushchair or a wheelchair in the shop / cafe etc.. Over the year's this shop has got worse and worse. The price's of thing's in the shop have gone sky high and that's wrong in my eye's. The staff are not that welcoming and friendly so they could do with a bit more training on this sort of thing. So me and my family give it a three star all round ***.

   Has become a bit shambolic recently. Seems that the staff block half of the shop until 1000 with stuff to go on shelves. There are 3 self service tills who’s serviceability has been suspect at least 50% of the times I’ve been in. Lots of sandwich choice but no pasties any more. It is quite expensive compared to other places. I’m not enamoured of the recent changes to be honest.

   The prices of things in this shop are extortionate! Talk about taking advantage of the sick. They should be ashamed of themselves. £1.99 for a half sized can of shaving foam?! Oh, and it was the only one available. They know that there is no competition here so they can charge what they want. Gouging opportunists.

   Although a nice clean and presentable shop their is one worker who ruins it with her attitude i witnessed her yesterday shout at a customer for asking if she could change a note for change, shouting at a young mother with her child in the push chair, then continueing to shout when the mother had walked away about being sick of people asking her for change..then continued to be rude to this customer when she has needed help at the self service checkout...staffs attitude is a big dissapointment, i was disgusted buy this, everyone stopped their shopping die to her shouting
