We stayed for an evening meal, night and breakfast. Food was excellent, staff were friendly and welcoming. Our bedroom was huge, though it felt like a dumping ground for chest of drawers, saying that, it was very clean and the bathroom was spotless. A very good night's sleep in a extremely comfy bed. All in all a very good stay.

Brilliant food & friendly staff. I've been going to The Plough regularly for a few years now & so impressed with it that many of my friends & family now make it their regular spot too. I always used to stick to the main menu which the services are very tasty but also larger than I would normally order. I had a couple of OK carveries a few years back but of late, thats been brilliant too. The ice cream is proper too so I would recommend (unlike the cheap rubbish most places serve) Definitely one to visit

From the moment i arrived for my leaving due at The Plough Inn, it was clear i was in for something special. The ambiance struck the perfect balance between cozy and refined, setting the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. I started with the crispy whitebait, which was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection—light, crispy, and packed with flavor. It was an excellent start that left me excited for what was to come. For the main course, the Wagyu burger truly stole the show. Juicy, rich, and bursting beautiful flavours it was easily one of the best burgers I’ve had. The attention to detail in the plating matched the quality of the ingredients, making it as visually appealing as it was delicious. A special mention must go to Christine, She was not only professional but also warm and attentive, ensuring the night flowed seamlessly. Her thoughtful service added a personal touch that elevated the entire experience. In short, The Plough Inn delivered on every front—taste, presentation, service, and atmosphere. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

We had a meal today that was booked for 5pm, we arrived 15 mins early so was able to sit down. There was 4 of us and we had a lovely meal. We waited at least 20 minutes or more for them to clear our plates and to bring us the desert menu , when we got our deserts we were then told we had 15 minutes to eat it because the table was booked for the next sitting. Three of us finished and my sister was still eating hers so they cleared the table before she had finished then brought us the bill. We had to rush our deserts but if they had been a bit faster at clearing our plates we wouldn't of been kicked out the door. Won't be going there again.

Really lovely carvery with the family. Meat and all the veg are excellent-hot and fresh, proper homemade yorkies too. Only downside is I felt the soft drinks are a bit on the pricey side - nearly £10 for 3. We stayed for dessert too which was also delicious. Definitely visit again.

I enjoyed a lovely 3 course gluten free Christmas dinner at the Plough last night. There were so many options including all the best starters and desserts. Yes actual desserts like sticky ginger pudding rather than just ice cream or fruit that most places offer. The brioche roll with my soup was great too. Enormous portions so I advise not eating for a full day before going, to make the most of it! In addition to the quality of the food, the atmosphere was great and the staff were all lovely. Huge thanks to the folk at the Plough, it really was amazing.

Wonderful experience! The food was lovely, staff were friendly and attentive. Even better that we had a room upgrade when we arrived, room 8 was lovely, very big and spacious, wonderful bathroom which was very nicely decorated. Bed was very comfy, topper was abit too soft for my partner but I loved it. We will definitely be back

Good menu that caters for vegetarians. The food was tasty and plentiful. The ice creams are particularly good value. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the place itself is a little lacking in atmosphere.
