A very rude man named Benjamin at this store. Very unhelpful & would not exchange an item which was ordered from Argos online. If this was the case then there is a way of speaking to your customers. His attitude is awful, I can’t actually believe that he is in customer service. Benjamin has had previous job roles at other companies such as the co op and he was the same there. Maybe you need a change in career Benjamin, or some training where you can learn to respect people and customers.

Just ordered oral b io toothbrush heads and a ring doorbell, paid for them, receipt then stated the toothbrush heads can be collected from January 2026. Why would I wait that long? Manager of the newcastle under lyme branch served me, and she shouldn't have bothered. No customer service and doesn't know how to speak to the public. Curt from the start and rude. Refunded my money for the toothbrush heads, but will not be shopping there again.

Sainsbury’s / Argos – Newcastle-under-Lyme (Returns Counter) I recently purchased a NutriBullet from this store and used it to make breadcrumbs. It became immediately clear that the product was not fit for purpose, as it struggled to perform this very basic task. When I returned to the store to request a refund or replacement, I was met with an unhelpful attitude. The staff member at the returns counter at the instore Argos argued with me and refused to accept the return, despite my explanation. I found the interaction dismissive and frustrating, and it left me feeling that customer service is not a priority here. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, if an item is faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, customers are legally entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. In this case, the product was clearly not suitable for the intended task, so it is disappointing that the store chose not to uphold its legal obligations. I’ve left feeling extremely dissatisfied with both the product and the way the situation was handled. I would advise others to consider shopping elsewhere or be prepared for difficulties if a return is needed. To the women who argued with me please make yourself familiar with Consumer Rights 'If the item is not fit for purpose (i.e., it doesn’t do what a reasonable person would expect it to do), then you are legally entitled to a refund under UK law — specifically the Consumer Rights Act 2015.'

Absolutely disgusting. Attitude of the staff is horrendous, not helpful at all! If I could give no stars I would. Keep away

I highly recommend avoiding this store for electrical purchases—go to Very instead. I returned a laptop just two days after buying it because it was extremely slow. The staff member who assisted me was quite dismissive and even claimed it wasn't slow after testing it herself—despite my clear concerns. What made it worse was being told I couldn’t receive a refund because the seal was broken. If a refund wasn't an option, why test the device at all? To add to the confusion, I had already confirmed with Argos customer support via chat that I could get a refund if I was unhappy with the product. The staff in-store, however, flatly denied this and claimed that information wasn’t accurate to their terms. Overall, the experience was frustrating and misleading. If you're shopping for electronics, I suggest looking elsewhere where customer service aligns with what's promised online.

Be aware if purchasing electrical goods. Even if you are not happy with the product within 30 days they will not refund you if seal is open. I wanted to return a computer which was way too slow and other buyers for this item have left similar reviews in regards to the slowness. I told the staff member this and they turned it on to test it. Obviously their opinion was different to mine which wasn't a surprise as many people have said how difficult Argos make returns. Everyone has different opinions which I respect. Anyway after saying that they thought it was fine I was then told they could not refund anyway because it had been opened. So not sure why the staff member didn't tell me that to start with as they didn't need to test as refund was going to be denied. I understand it if I was reporting a fault. So I will be using Very and Currys from now on. Much easier with these companies.

Very long queing times whilst staff seem to be hiding in the back. Also had to return an item which would not boost my wifi signal as described. They initially refused to take back because it had been opened and plugged in. Was told I had chosen the wrong product and it was my fault for not doing enough background research before purchasing. Eventually they agreed a refund but was very stressful and not the sort of customer service I expect from Argos. Will certainly not be going to this branch again! .

Nice clean store with helpful staff. Maybe make it less confusing for customers about where to que. While I was shopping there today there were quite a few people waiting but no clear line so people were jumping in front of others which caused a couple of customers to get annoyed.

Really easy to order. Not totally clear how you get to it from the main Sainsbury's store. But the staff are helpful and professional.

Waited a while to be served, two staff on but both busy with same person. However, the staff member who did serve us was lovely and transaction went well.
