I had a fantastic experience thanks to David, the restaurant manager. He recommended the sea bass and sides—both absolutely outstanding—while keeping everything relaxed and never over the top. What really stood out was his attitude: friendly, genuine, and clearly passionate about what he does. You can tell he truly loves his job, and that enthusiasm made the whole evening even more enjoyable. David really elevated our visit. Highly recommend!

The grilled mackerel was a magnificent, charred and succulent. As a solo walk in diner, I was made to feel so welcome, by everyone: mostly from Christian who goes out of his way to help you with the many great food choices while being honest. His charisma was great, made me laugh. It's testament to the ethos of this place is top notch!

A nice restaurant can delight the trip! The hot seafood well cooked just medium raw. The waiters are social. Thanks for offer us the table tonight. Highly recommended. Will come again definitely!

Great place for seafood! Everything we ordered was delicious. Fish is really fresh and they have a board showing the remaining number of daily catch fishes. Waiters were nice and gave good recommendations.

Lovely restaurant for special occasion however , take long time to get food - which is understandable, just heads up if you decide to have a meal there with kids. I wouldn't recommend risotto as was way too salty. Octopus and crab was very good. Complimentary bread and butter/spreads very tasty too

Okay if you like waiting more than an hour between starter and main. They gave bread at the start without mentioning they would charge £4for it (4 small, dry and slightly burnt slices). Lobster was okay but overpriced for the flavour and size, sashimi was a main size to share but was tiny for £36. Complained about the time and they didn't seem to care, just added a 12.5% service charge for making us wait. Seated as a couple but had to sit on the same side of a table with other groups on bar stools. Overall, food not great and small portion sizes, long wait times, not good for a romantic date as you can not have your own table and terrible service.

Exquisitely crafted dishes with attention to detail & carefully picked ingredients. Had been looking forward to visiting the Riddle&Fins in the Lanes, as I had heard much about it and I can safely say that they did satisfy my expectations, maybe even mildly exceeded them :)) Worth noting: compared to other dining in Brighton it is more on the expensive side but definitely worth it (and the bill depends on what you order) , it is gluten free friendly (the pancakes in the photo), also to note: there’s a policy where if you are in two you have to sit side by side with your ‘date’, leaving space for people to sit opposite you. I went with a friend though and was not awkward at all despite being surprised at first by the seating arrangement. Would go again! Friendly and professional staff too. Very quick service! Atmosphere is 10/10 and recommended especially for a nice date night.
