Really nice place, staff is great and attentive, atmosphere is great, polished but cozy. A bit of the wait for mains but it was 100% worth it! Ox doughnuts starter, ribeye, octopus, and mac - all was brilliant. Definitely coming back.

Best meal I have had out in AGES! Service was 11/10, every bite was delish, and the vibe was top tier. The prawns were heavenly, and the tartar was next level delicious. My dates 'short' rib was HUGE and succulent and my fillet was cooked to pink perfection - don't get me started on the truffle fries NOM!

We had a really lovely experience at Carne last night. The atmosphere is great; it’s warm and cosy but with enough space between tables to give it a romantic feel. The service was brilliant and the food was amazing. We had the filet steak as well as the tartar and the prawns to start. Everything was fabulous with great flavours and the steak was cooked to perfection. Would definitely recommend for either a date night or a night out with friends. We loved it.

We’re excited to visit Carne Hove again after their relocation. I remember having my first taste of their Tomahawk steak, and it was a chef’s kiss—forever etched in my mind. Since then, we’ve been coming back! I must say, the food is still exceptional, and they did very well with the interior and service. Brighton shouldn’t sleep on this restaurant. It's also available on First Table! A 50% discount is an incredible bonus to accept. Nevertheless, the food is worth it at any price.

We just finished a wonderful Sunday brunch. I had the sirloin and my wife had the chicken. Both were delicious and plentiful. The gravy was terrific and we got extra as we had run out. We also had a cheesy cauliflower side which was very good. We’ll definitely be back. Dog friendly!

We were greeted by a very friendly bartender who made us cocktails and we loved sitting in the comfy bar area while we waited for our table to become available. Off to a good start but sadly the service was downhill from there... The waiter came to ask us what we wanted as soon as we sat down (we hadn't had a chance to look at the menu). It then took ages for anyone to come back to take our order. We ordered our starters, mains, and a bottle of wine. Our starters came about an hour after we had sat down but no wine was delivered. My fiancé had to get up and ask where it was. We finally got the wine and the mains came not too long after. I had ordered my steak rare but it came out medium. I asked for it to be sent back and, although the waiter agreed that it was medium, he seemed reluctant to take it back and told me I'd be waiting for 20 minutes. I asked if I could send it back anyway as I'd been really looking forward to the steak and wanted it cooked rare. He gave me the impression that I had put him out/made his life difficult (which I probably had, but shouldn't have been made to feel this way and the restaurant wasn't busy enough to justify the reaction). The steak came back 20 minutes later, this time it was medium rare to medium but I couldn't be bothered to complain again and we'd already finished our sides. We decided not to stick around for dessert and, despite it being 50% off, it was an expensive meal. I don't usually like to complain but hope that this provides some constructive feedback for the soft launch. The food we had was lovely (even the steak cooked more than I'd like was tasty), however the bad service definitely distracted from the food.

The food is excellent! Had the best steak I have ever had( porterhouse to share). The scallop and the tartare were also good although beef dripping chips were a bit dry and cold.Unfortunately the service did let it down. We went during lunch but service was slow, had to wait a long time to order drinks but the whiskey sour was good. The waiter was bothered by us asking for take away and not very pleasant. Would go back just for the steak!

Enjoyed our evening at Carne. Service was excellent, menu was delicious and comprehensive. The courses were delicate and well executed, although could be a little braver with the rareness of the meat courses; medium rare should be a little more pink. Will be adding it to my list of Brighton & Hove recommendations!

I visited during the soft launch (50% off entire bill). Here’s everything we had to share between 3 people. Honey Roast Duck, Rib-eye steak, Roast Bone Marrow salad, Ox cheek max & cheese, dripping chips, truffle & Parmesan chips. Standouts; duck, rib-eye & dripping chips. Would definitely recommend. Overall, atmosphere was good, food gets a 3/5. The light from the meat on display was not nice & the music choice was interesting. There’s a bar in the back which many people were enjoying. I think it’s worth a visit at least once.
