I booked and paid for an appointment for a flu vaccination at the Well Pharmacy, Acle. I received confirmation of the booking and notification that as I had already paid, there was nothing further for me to do. I left work early, in plenty of time, missing a meeting I was supposed to attend, so as not to miss or be late for my appointment due to any unforeseen delays, as my place of work is almost an hour away. When I arrived at the pharmacy and stated that I had a flu vaccination appointment, I was immediately informed that only NHS bookings were being seen. After I reiterated that I had a confirmed appointment, I was told the pharmacist would be with me shortly. After a short wait, the pharmacist informed me that the regular pharmacist was off sick. He was covering in their absence but was only able to administer NHS vaccinations, not privately booked ones. I explained that I had already paid for the service, at which point he advised that I would be refunded and suggested I rebook in 'a week to 10 days'. When I got home I received a text message sent 5 minutes before my appointment was scheduled, saying that my appointment had been canceIled "due to a shortage of stock". The message also stated that if I am entitled to a refund, it can take up to 10 days to reach my account! I find this outrageous! Surely the absence of the regular pharmacist was known well before five minutes prior to my appointment, which could have prevented me from unnecessarily leaving work early and missing an important meeting.

Its imperative that this issue be reported to the NHS. The pharmacy is consistently closed due to the pharmacist's absence, or open but unable to dispense or sell medications. While I understand the individual at the till is bearing the brunt of customer frustration, this situation is unacceptable. Not all residents of Acle have the luxury of immediate transportation to obtain their medications, and this issue could have life-threatening consequences if left unresolved!

It takes far too long for prescriptions and always seems chaotic in there, not much stock

Sadly it's badly run and behind the times. I've seen people crying saying they've been back 3 times for a prescription. To be fair they finally got my multiple meds sorted but it was a long haul getting there

Awful service. My pregnant girlfriend came in for an urgent antibiotic order and the staff were extremely rude to her. This is not the first issue we've had with this pharmacy either. My advice: stay well away and go elsewhere, they clearly donβt care about patients.

Useless! Having to go back 3 and 4 times for them to get a prescription right ! I spend more time there then I do my own home due to their incompetence. Never known a chemist as bad as this .

Service is appalling, they need to understand who the customer is. One particular shop assistant was rude. The shops motto must be "Service with a sneer" Will not get my business going forward.

Unbelievably poor service standards. This branch debited my account twice for one transaction and, many weeks later, are still to provide a refund. Their aftersales 'experience' platform fails to acknowledge customer issues and one staff member is in dire need of 'customer orientation' CPD.

Nice staff, support on advice for my baby products and drugs, relatively quick service! My one feedback for them l, and typically most pharmacists, is to acknowledge the customer waiting and not just getting the glances from the back before being seen to.

This review is just about the Acle branch. I've been using this for many years, including when it was under Co-Op ownership. I've had terrible service from them recently and now decided to make other arrangements, which is inconvenient because it's a 10 minute walk from my house. I do understand Covid has put them under pressure, but so it has to thousands of other businesses, who still maintain at least a helpful attitude, even if they can't give their normal levels of service. When it reaches the point where they'd rather argue with me over the phone for longer than it takes to actually do their job, a line has to be drawn.
