Me and a friend had a couple of drinks here before seeing a show at the Britannia Theatre which adjoins the Long Bar. We have done this a few times now. You can enter the theatre from here so very convenient. Large space with tables if required, very dark though. Usually plenty of staff who always seem pleasant.

Friendly staff, only stopped her for a drink, we sat outside but then got plagued with flys had to go back in, other customers sat in was incredible friendly, this place is also disabled friendly.

Fantastic bar, great atmosphere and warm friendly staff. They have recently built a row of wood and glass, sheltered seating bays along the pier. Great for sitting outside whatever the weather.

Long John's Showbar in Great Yarmouth is a vibrant gem along the coast, perfect for an entertaining night out. The atmosphere on weekend is electric, drawing in a decent, lively crowd that enhances the experience. The venue is known for its friendly staff and top-notch service, making every visitor feel welcome. Thanks to the security and people at the bar were really good and very helpful.Special Thanks to Katie !

Typical pier beer bar: Large, with an amiable outside seating area with a view of the sea, and absolutely no cask ales or other quality beers in sight! The only beers on offer are international lagers and British mainstream ales like John Smith. However, on a warm, sunny day on Britannia Pier that doesn't matter too much. I visited the bar twice, got out of the slightly gloomy bar room as fast as possible (the second time there was a pub quiz in progress, not many people participated), and instead enjoyed the view (tables have an umbrella that you can put up easily by yourself if needed). At shore I would never even have entertained visiting a pub like this, but on the pier, it provides a brief reprieve from the (other) cheap amusements around. So its serves its purpose, but nothing more.

Good pub on the pier. Good outside seating. The stainless steel toilets remind me of public toilets and need a upgrade. Alright for a couple drinks, especially during summer time. Patchy opening times during the evening and always busy around theatre show times.

So my dad visits this bar on holiday with his family and decides to go for a quiet drink. On arrival, he comes across this poster attached. I just don't understand why anyone would have to explain why he found this poster insensitive, offensive, inappropiate and completely unacceptable to be displayed as if it's 'just a part of history' -(the Managers words when he made a complaint). Being of Afro-Carribbean decent those enslaved people are my ancestors. The atrocites of slavery are horrific where our whole culture and heritage has been wiped out, dehumanised and treated as worthless and still affecting the black community to this day. (I shouldn't have to explain this!) Why would anyone deem this poster as appropiate?? I'm highly disturbed that this is acceptable to have up on your wall as a show piece as if it was nothing.
