What a wonderful homely pub! It felt like we were invited into a couple's living room! The home cooked food was really lovely...Good variety for vegetarians. A lovely spot by the river. Would definitely recommend.
Cozy waterside pub. Friendly stewards that helped us moor up. Only had a pint here, so couldn't comment on the food, but will probably try it on a future visit. Had a pint of the Wherry Ale, but there were plenty of others on offer. Worth visiting for real ale fans.
Great pub, run by a lovely couple, where nothing is to much trouble, good selection of lovely food served, including breakfast, but this must be pre ordered, seating outside, with great views of the broads, moorings available at a cost, dog friendly.
I don’t normally leave reviews but the friendly atmosphere and top class service from the moment I phoned to enquire about the opening times and welcome into the pub was top class. The owner recommended the rack of ribs when I asked about food and they were the best I’ve had, the wife had fish and chips and again cooked to perfection, even better than her favourite chippy, daughter had the stake and again this came out perfect first time, even the kids ate most of their dinner. If you like a good ale there’s even this catered for, it’s such a shame it’s literally on the other side of Norfolk for us or this would be our local pud, hands down, will try to go back again next summer.

We called in for drinks during the day on 2 occasions last week. I can't comment on the food here, hence the 4 stars. I love this pub! I first visited 40 (!) years ago and have fond memories of the place. It was good to revisit after all this time though, in all honesty, I can't remember too much about it(!) It's ideally situated right on the banks of the Yare which is what brought me here in the first place, 40 years ago. Last week we sat at the tables outside adjacent to the moorings in blazing sunshine. There is much memorabilia inside; old advertisements, vending machines etc which all add to the effect. It was so good to call in again. Sorry to gush so much, but it really was!
We are staying in Reedham for a few days and have had 2 meals in The Lord Nelson and both were excellent. Beautifully presented and so tasty. Our dog was welcome too. Totally recommend this friendly pub right on the water. We will be back!
We camped in the area and had a wonderful, albeit hot, walk to this pub. The food was fantastic, loaded chips were awesome!! Compliments to the chef! Well stocked bar too. Inside was well set out. Great decor, toilets clean and tidy. Outside seating area was right on the river, we didn't use it because we didn't want to fight off the wasps off our lunch! Really reasonably priced too. Will definitely return if in the area
Lovely Riverside location and good food at pub prices. Good polite service. We dined outside by the Riverside where we had moored our boat for the evening and without charge. We would visit again if in the area.
We visited on a quiet evening in the week and had a lovely meal. We had only been here for a few drinks in the past and never eaten but the menu was extensive and both the kids menu and the main menu had enough of a selection to satisfy our entire group of 6. There were a number of beers on tap including two ales from the local brewery (Humpty Dumpty), which I always appreciate seeing. The service was friendly and we weren't waiting long for our food after ordering. I would suggest booking ahead because there isn't a huge number of tables indoors but there is river side outdoor seating available as well. In all, a well deserved 5 stars and a much improved pub compared to The Lord Nelson we have visited in previous years.
