Absolutely by far one of the best places I've eaten in locally in recent times. The roast dinner was incredible and the cauliflower cheese the best I've ever had. Staff very friendly , excellent choice of food, beautiful location
Came for lunch and had fish and chips and scampi and chips. Big portions and lovely food. They also sell Hawkstone larger, bonus!
This is beautiful pub and in an amazing location. With the smell of amazing food being prepared drawing you in. It doesn’t disappoint in anyway.
Once upon a time, a traditional pub in the Norfolk Broads meant hearty food, cooked fresh, and worth the trip. Sadly, those days seem long gone here. The setting may still be charming, but the food doesn’t live up to it. A “special menu” should feel like a treat, but here it reads more like an Aldi special — cheap, uninspired, and lacking any real care. It’s disappointing because the Broads deserve pubs that celebrate the best of local produce and traditional cooking. Instead, what arrives on the plate feels like it’s been microwaved straight from a bargain freezer aisle. With so many visitors coming for an authentic experience, it’s a shame this pub falls short of expectations. If you’re after a drink by the water, it might do the job. But if you’re coming for the food, prepare to be underwhelmed.
Nice pub by the swing bridge. Pie and mash special was lovely full of flavour and filling. Gammon and chips looked and tasted good. Apple pie and custard was delicious. Sticky toffee pudding was hard and disappointing, I'd avoid that if you go especially as it's seven pounds for a small portion.
Our usual monthly Trekker walk was at Reedham yesterday and we had a fabulous lunch afterwards at the Ship Inn. It is situated right by the river which must be a perfect place for a summer's evening drink or meal. There is outside seating and a children's play area too! There were 10 if us eating and we all had a Sunday Roast which was delicious and plenty of it! There were four choices, Beef, Pork, Turkey or Nut Roast and each of us had one of those options and each one was equally as delicious! Priced at £13 for one course or a very reasonable £16 for two, this was incredible value. Unusually for a Sunday, there was the option to also choose from the regular menu too which is amazing! The staff were all really friendly and efficient, which was really impressive as there were two large parties in at the same time but neither group seemed to be waiting for any length of time. A good discovery which we will definitely return to!
We had a lovely meal at the Ship on a Saturday evening. The food was reasonably priced, decent sized portions and delicious. We both rated the lamb shank.... Oh and the CHIPS! (not pictured) The chips were incredible. We ordered a side after seeing them on someone else's plate and don't regret it at all!
Ran out of veg for Sunday roast but food was excellent and service superb! Went back again during the week had the Thai Cod and Crab fishcakes from the specials board food excellent large portions and very tasty.
