Such a beautiful setting and very comfortable stay in the cabin. Chris and Georgia were very friendly and helpful hosts and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. 10/10, would Moat again.

Fantastic stay in Ash. Even though the weather was cold and wet the tent was warm and cozy. Despite the cold we even managed a dip in the pool as it looked so inviting. Can’t wait to come back in the spring.

Although we only had a short stay at Moat Island, we will certainly be back for a longer stay. The site has a lovely, natural feel to it which makes it easy to switch off. The toilets and showers were spotless and the kitchen/ dining space has everything you will need. We stayed in The Cabin which has a kitchen area and a wood burner, as well as a wood fired hot tub so suitable for breaks from spring to autumn. Would highly recommend a visit.

This is a really beautiful place to go to deep in deepest Norfolk. Came for a couple of nights with friends and we really enjoyed our stay. The tents were spacious inside and well equipped as was the communal kitchen. Had a fantastic swim in the pond, bullrushes looming over us. Chris is a pleasant guy and was really helpful.

We had the most wonderful stay from start to finish at Moat Island. Georgia and Chris’ communication right from booking, to leaving, was outstanding. They met us upon arrival, and was always responsive and helpful. The hut was so special. It was so well equipped, and finished beautifully. You are surrounded my woodland, walks and river. The beaches only a 25+ minute drive. The communal toilet and shower blocks were always kept clean. The swimming pond was an amazing added bonus! We enjoyed our hot tub and wood burner in the evening after having a swim and some dinner. Thank you so much for having us, we can’t wait to return and tell our friends all about this hidden gem! We stayed here this weekend for a mini half term break with our five year old and five month old baby. The host was amazing and very helpful leading up to and during our stay - we appreciated how easy the communication was given how busy our lives can be with the two smaller family members! Instructions for finding the site were very helpful and we arrived easily. The castel cabin was chilly when we arrived and we briefly worried it would be too cold for the baby, but the log burner heated everything up in a very short time and then stayed warm until we left two days later. It's a fairly warm late October (down to about 13/14 degrees overnight), but we were still impressed by this. The space was great - surprisingly roomy especially with the turret table/bed, and very well appointed. For anyone else who isn't sure, there is a toaster. The outdoor kitchen in the other part of the site has everything else you might want for cooking including a gas hob and proper oven if you'd rather use those. The electric hob in the cabin was great though. The outdoor space near the castle was fab - a large sail-like tented area for shade/rain cover and a big shared fire pit, plus the cabin and castle both have their own smaller fire pit and also a compost loo (great for middle of the night loo trips). Shower facilities were great - large and the water was hot. There are two loos and two showers per block of men's and women's facilities, plus a disabled loo (which possibly had a shower in, we didn't use this so didn't check) and three outdoor showers at the end. I'm not sure if they were heated as well as we used the indoor ones, but they looked very nice. The block is under the trees so it all smelt lovely and pine-y, and had nice views towards farmland. The swimming pond is really cool - we thought from the photos that it was a pond that had been artificially deepened and a jetty added but actually it's a very cleverly designed outdoor pool with a deep (2m) swimming section in the middle surrounded by little banks with nicely planted gravel/rocks. I am not keen on wild swimming because of the weeds etc but this was weed-free and looked very pretty. On a hot day it would be great! The woodland next door was beautiful especially at this time of year with millions of toadstools. We saw lots of wildlife including bats, birds of prey, and deer. All in all a wonderful stay and a place we hope to come back to. We love privacy on glamping campsites and really fancy the bell tents next summer, with their self contained little glades.

Fantastic experience. We booked the whole site for a big family gathering and had a fantastic time. Will definitely come again. Lewis and Roy were really helpful booking in and place is amazing. Seriously comfortable tents with enough bedding for the whole family. Every tent has a BBQ and stove! Brilliant shares shower block (better than my shower at home! How many camp sites have slate tiles??). Also incredibly well equipped kitchen (definitely won’t need to bring anything to make even quite complicated meals) and a PIZZA OVEN!

We have just spent two nights at Moat Island and really cannot rate this place enough. It is absolutely beautiful and the sunset spot is breathtaking. The beauty is in the detail with so much care and thought for the environment, the wildlife and the customer experience. The owners are attentive but not intrusive. We have come away feeling totally refreshed and relaxed. The tents are really spacious, clean and zen like with soft and comfy beds. We had the furnished stargazer which was perfect for the views at night and in morning. We went for an anniversary break and it was really romantic but would also be great for a family or group of friends. You have your own area for socialising and cooking on your own fire pit, and all the utensils you need that are specially dedicated to you in your own section in the communal kitchen area which has a nice big oven and a pizza oven too. You have your own designated fridge. The showers are hot and luxurious. The natural swimming pond is so unique and refreshing. If you want to escape to real nature and serenity then in my opinion this is the perfect place. We will absolutely be coming back. 5 star rating from us!
