I wanted to share my experience to warn others, do not buy any TV or tech gadgets from Argos without checking your consumer rights first. I purchased a TV online and collected it from the Northwich shop. The TV looked great on the website but was of poor quality. After only a few days the TV developed a fault. When I returned to the Northwich shop a rude member of staff refused to accept the return because the box had been opened, citing their policy. Of course you need to open the box to see what’s inside, simply ridiculous! After numerous back-and-forths with customer service and the shop manager, I was given unreasonable excuses including that they needed to fix the TV before issuing a refund. Why would you want to fix a new TV that already had an issue? Also collecting from the shop meant no refund (apparently if they had delivered it, I’d be entitled to one, though no one could explain the reason). It took nearly a month and a final letter to head office referencing the Consumer Rights Act 2015 before I finally received my money back. Never again will I buy anything from Argos.

I recently bought a Samsung microwave from this store. On use it appears that it has major problems i believe it is leaking. Taking it back to the store was pointless beyond embarrassing. The little blonde manager could not wait to pass blame and shirk responsibility. I have had to go straight to the manufacturer who are equally as unhelpful after only two uses. The company (Argos) states that a faulty item can be replaced in within the year. They just dont want to do it if they dont have to. I for one will avoid this terrible company all I can. I suggest you do the same, particularly northwich branch. They do not want repeat custom.

Rude, obnoxious and unhelpful staff. Treat you like a transaction not a customer. Drive the extra miles and go to Winsford - top team there!

I went to the store to return a faulty item which snapped during first use. The manager, Colette, immediately accused us of dropping it and refused to process the return, calling it “accidental damage.” Her attitude was unhelpful and confrontational from the start. She provided a phone number for the Argos helpline, which issued us with a reference number authorising the return. When we returned with this, Colette again refused to accept it, claiming “no one can overrule what I say.” The interaction came across as power-driven and unnecessarily obstructive, creating a toxic atmosphere for us as customers. While she claimed to be following policy, it appeared more like she was enforcing her own personal rules. Very disappointing and unwelcoming experience at this store.

I usually don’t leave reviews, but my recent experience at Argos left me genuinely frustrated. I encountered poor customer service from the moment I walked in, and unfortunately, the store manager only made things worse. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, they were dismissive, unhelpful, and showed little regard for customer satisfaction. What should have been a straightforward return turned into a drawn-out, unpleasant process. The staff seemed disorganized, and no one took ownership of the problem. When I finally spoke to the manager, I expected some accountability, but instead got attitude and excuses. Argos used to be a reliable go-to, but after this experience, I’ll be rethinking where I shop. If this is the standard of customer care, especially from management, I’d recommend others look elsewhere.

I have to say that this store always finds new ways to go down in quality. Try to order online and their is an issue so go down to the store. As the item was unavailable in store they wouldn't allow me to order it for in store pick-up tomorrow instructing me to order online. I explained that it wasn't working online and the answer was that they couldn't allow me to order it. This is the second time I've had this issue in this store with this member of staff. Last time I had this issue with the dodgy app a different member of staff resolved the issue. I think some staff need training in how to do things the Sainsbury's way!

Tried to return a strimmer that I’d had for only 2 weeks and it stopped working the First Lady was nice and pleasant and went to speak to the manager then the manager came out I think the lady with blonde hair she was rude and arrogant kept shaking her head at me as I was trying to explain She was saying I need to take it up with the supplier challenge and start a warranty claim I’d only used it once told her that I’d spoke to Argos on 2 occasions and they said I could go in store and swop straight away with it only being 2 weeks old but this lady had different ideas so so rude considering her main role is customer service Think you need a new job elsewhere Going to travel a bit further and use other branches from now on.

Lady was so hostile it was surreal, like I'd offended her in a past life or I reminded her of her husbands killer. She glared at me with daggers in her eyes, a sharpness in her voice, usually only heard from angry Disney villains. As her blood boiled I stood smiling, dying inside, wishing I had never set foot in her kingdom. The chap behind held his item for return he looked panicked, knowing his time will come, we were both scared Why do u hate me Lady, what did I do, i just wanted to return a printer, I'm a nice man :(

I was treated terribly by a lady working on the collection till at this store on Thursday morning. I was unknowingly suffering from a mini stroke, and struggling to process instructions and locate the collection code on my phone. She was rude and abrupt, and I can only assume she didn't realise how frightened and confused I was. I left the shop in tears, and then spent 2 days in hospital.
