My husband and I went to have tea and the cups were all dirty; I doubt anyone had cleaned them. It was really unpleasant. We left everything and went away. The table was greasy too, and the windowpanes were very dirty. We paid £8 for two cups of tea, I felt robbed

Popped in on Sunday, very friendly staff. We decided to have the carvery, served by the lovely Tony. Meats were cooked beautifully and very generous portion, good variety veg, great gravy and sauces. Would recommend and will return.

Had the calamari which was over cooked and over battered. The chips were great though. Lacking in atmosphere as some Christmas decorations but could do much more. Service was great.

The Travellers Rest is a hidden gem that combines a cosy, welcoming atmosphere with great value for money. Whether you're after a quick drink or a hearty meal, this place delivers on all fronts. The drinks are reasonably priced, with a good range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. The food came out quickly, but still tasted fresh and well-prepared — a pleasant surprise, as "fast pub food" doesn't always have the best reputation. Not here though — no upset stomachs, just genuinely enjoyable meals. I had a generous portion of crispy chicken, which was perfectly cooked. My partner ordered the Caesar salad and said it was one of the best she’s had. The overall portion sizes were more than satisfying. The atmosphere was relaxed, with background music at a comfortable volume, making it easy to enjoy a conversation. The location is easy to get to, and there’s plenty of parking available, which is a big plus. All in all, The Travellers Rest is a great spot for casual dining and drinks. We'll definitely be returning.

Popped in for the first time in 30yrs....not much has changed...great to relive happy memories with my Grandad and Aunty Molly My very first pint was enjoyed here and there was a huge steak. Many happy visits over my teen years and early 20,s visiting from Poole.

They day we went the boiler had broken. Not sure how long it had been that way for. But it sure did dampen the atmosphere. Food was ok, not a fan of non plate plates though. Staff were very helpful and accommodating even down to finding out how thick the custard was. Thank you. Not bad all things considered though. Only 2 stars in main rating because of the boiler. Would have been a solid 4 otherwise.

Had Christmas Lunch and it was the best we have had in years. The food was nice and hot, the service excellent, the little touches of table cloths, table displays, crackers and staff taking photos if you wanted just added to the enjoyment. Excellent value for money. Staff even went out of their way to accommodate unbooked additions to the table next door to us. We were well pleased.

Pretty standard family style pub with large amounts of seating and a pool table. The staff are polite and friendly. Limited local beers and a few taps have been off on recent visits. Decent parking out the front too and good outdoor seating.

Great food. The Chinese Pork Belly was amazing. Well worth a visit. Good service. Enjoyed the visit.
