Every time we visit has been a very pleasant time. staff have always been polite and friendly and very helpful and food has always been perfect and christmas we have been in last two year now and meals for christmas have been lovely.
Visited the wee waif for the Santa breakfast experience. Great value for money, my daughter had the festive pancakes and loved them (great portion size and very tasty). Santa and his elf were incredible with my daughter, made her very comfortable. Wasn't just a quick photo op, they spent plenty of time chatting with her. We then even had a surprise appearance from the Grinch, who stopped for some lovely pictures. As a massive Grinch fan this made my daughter's day and she hasn't stopped talking about it since. Massive thanks to the team.
In my role for a local sight loss charity, I organised to take a group of 10 visually impaired people to the Wee Waif for a Christmas get together. The service was excellent, very attentive and helpful. We had a lovely table in the conservatory, meaning it was nice and bright and away from the general pub noise. We had pre-ordered our meals which arrived in a timely, but not rushed, manner. The food was plentiful and good quality. There were a lot of empty plates! For the volume and quality of the food , it was excellent value for money. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and we will definitely be back.
The food was very good and decent portion sizes, the staff and service was friendly, helpful and efficient. Even with a group of 17 there was no long wait times. A calm pleasant atmosphere and a comfortable temperature. We only went for lunch and didn't use the Hotel / facilities. Plenty of free parking.
Well what a wonderful start to the festive season! I organised a party of 14 family members to come along for a festive treat and we were extremely pleased with the service, food and atmosphere at the Wee Waif! One of our host Anne was absolutely fantastic, extremely accommodating, making sure all of our needs were met and came back to check all was ok. Nothing was too much for her! We loved starting our festivities here ! Thank you to all staff too xx
Every time I come here to eat, I'm always impressed. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the General manager, Eddie, is always around and runs the place so professionally. Angie often serves me and i always feel welcome. Ive never had a bad meal, always hot and tasty and value for money. If i had to make a negative comment it would be that the place deserves a refurbishment, then it would be absolutely perfect.
Came for a Sunday roast lunch. Can't comment on the accommodation, only the food which was plentiful and conspicuously good value. Outstanding service from Angela, who was quick, friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Top marks.
Wee Waif is a bit of a mixed bag as it has friendly and polite staff both at the hotel reception and in the pub, but outdated and old rooms and facilities. It has a good selection of beers, but basic and not particularly interesting or tasty food. I have stayed here several times and apart from the last time when a fire alarm started at 2:30am and went on for more than 10 minutes (despite having no fire in the building), most of the other times I had a relatively good experience and good night sleep. With a bit of investment and updating throughout it could become a 5 star pub and hotel.
Had a family meal Saturday night. 1st service was extremely slow with over 40 minutes for starters. Steaks were ordered medium rare and all came beyond well done . Then the music started blaring out at a volume we would have to shout to be heard over. On top of that no one came to check we was happy with our food just no service at all
