   This is not a pub we visit often but found ourselves here on the off chance. The ladies behind the bar were really great, they found us a seat, cleaned table and recommended food. Gammon was delicious, best pub food my partner has had in a long time. Fish and chips was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Highly recommend giving this great pub a try. We will return!

   EDIT: I think it's important to update reviews to keep them relevant. We visited for lunch today and the welcome and service was fabulous. I'm adding the salmon with potatoes. Great choice. Previous review: We had a lovely family Sunday lunch today. The food was delicious, well presented, and good value. Callum was very helpful, accommodating and attentive without being overbearing. We needed an accessible table and Callum was happy to reserve a suitable spot, which we really appreciated. Excellent service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

   Disappointing meal, completely wrong order despite being the only customers. No extra onion rings, no mashed potato, an added unwanted fried egg and awful quality. One of the employees smoking near the back door but causing smoke to blow back into the premises. Poor value for money.

   Have been coming here occasionally for a pint. Staff are very welcoming and accommodating. Today came and was a bit hungry so Paul said have a mixed grill unfortunately I went for salt and pepper squid and felt even more hungry so had a mixed grill after that was very good and yes please listen to Paul he now.

   Went for Sunday lunch, reasonably priced and ample servings. Unfortunately had a bad attack of Acid reflux and had to ask for the food as a takeaway. Staff and patrons alike were very concerned regarding my condition, even offering to call an Ambulance! ( so thoughtful but unnecessary for Acid reflux). Anyway, I shall return to try out more of the menu .

   Not been this local pub in many in months. I am so happy that this local has a manager that a gives a care about the Good companions The food is getting a lot better I went in for a Sunday roast And it was brilliant the beef sirloin was cooked to my liking and the staff offered our table more gravy and drinks when our pints were short This is what we are missing

   Honestly when I first came here I had high expectations. I always see plenty of blokes inside and outside, and the building looks good. At its core it's a decent English pub, until I realised my pint was about 5 quid. Ridiculous. Other than that it's a decent atmosphere but I just can't give 4 stars with that price.
