We booked this restaurant on the basis of the reviews & we will not be returning. First the positives, we could not fault the service and the bar area and restaurant are attractive and the food portions were good. The food, however, was somewhat unimaginative. The goats cheese starter would have benefited from a seasonal salad & a good dressing. The avocado & tuna was particularly unimaginative. The mains were substantial but what can go wrong with a pork chop and a chicken breast though the sauce for the latter was uninspiring. The desserts were fine. The set course menu had carried a premium price, as it was the weekend but Interestingly there were very few diners in the restaurant. When I came to add a service charge this was not possible using a card. Who carries cash nowadays? In any case the meal was quite expensive for what it was before the addition of any service charge. Perhaps we were spoilt as we had just returned from France and inevitably we were making comparisons with the meals we had there and sadly La Parissienne falls short.

The food is delicious, especially the baked goat cheese. The taste is mellow and just right. There are many types of draft beer to choose from. Friendly staff.

Staff busy. A pub pretending to be a french cafe. But some details in the decor are wrong. Certainly the carpet. Food is good but not that special. Not somewhere I would go out of my way to return to.

Probably the best dining experience in Romsey. Authentic menu, the chef and staff are mostly French, including the owners. I’d recommend the fillet steak, it’s giant and cooked perfectly. Don’t be afraid of the snails, they taste great and you wouldn’t know what they are. No frogs legs unfortunately. The starter and salads are larger servings than you would expect. At the end of your meal ask for the espresso martini with your pudding, you won’t be disappointed. Free parking in private rear courtyard, (spaces are limited), but lots of other paid parking just outside the rear gates.

We didn't eat so gave 5 stars anyway but popped in for a beer. My favourite beer Stella was served. Not great had a twang and an old barrel smell to it. Yes I should have said something

Nice atmosphere but staff are quite rude. Menu is dated, and options for vegetarians or healthy eaters are non existent. The staff literally laughed at the vegans in our group. Had to ask multiple times for basic things like more wine or water - ot was as though everything we asked fit was difficult. I cannot understand why people like such terrible attitudes and say"its authentically french". I don't think the French are all rude.

It was OK, sadly not amazing. I can see the restaurant is popular with a good turnout for lunch on a Friday. Service was OK, maybe not grumpy and indifferent like true French restaurants but slow and somewhat lacking in attention as we had to ask to order, ask for the bill etc, no checking part way through the meal, long ish waits for things we had requested. Food distinctly average, onion soup did not have a toasted crouton topped with melted cheese on, like every single one I've had in France but small pot of grated cheese and some croutons. Soup was reasonably tasty however. My father's snails were OK, a bit small but fine. The mains of chicken escalope in mustard sauce was quite plain, not as appealing as my father's duck confit. However both meals came with grainy, lukewarm mash and some ratatouille which was was also cool. For the cost it could have been better as the ambience is good and quite French in style. I think with some effort it could be better.
