“The Empress of Blandings Pub & Restaurant is a fantastic spot that strikes a great balance between a classic pub and a quality restaurant. The menu offers a wide and varied selection, with something to please everyone, and the portion sizes are very generous-come hungry! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal. Don’t skip the puddings-they’re absolutely delicious and a real highlight of the experience. A great place for hearty food and a cozy vibe.”

“It's our first time visiting this restaurant in Romsey, easily accessible from bus station up around the corner which was convenient for us travelling by bus, entering via the garden which must be enjoyable under good weather though it's not yesterday. Atmosphere inside was quite cosy as it was an old house I supposed, we sit near the fireplace, it would be great in colder months when they lit it up with real woods sitting there; as to food choice, always good to choose from the menu, be sure to download their new app, check in every time when you dine there, you'll get a reward via the app & have all your activities in the app for you to remember with, we have ordered few plates to share with & a bottle of prosecco to enjoy, dessert to finish. Hope they would consider opening one in Southampton High Street area, so that we can go & enjoy whenever we desire.”

“Very cosy restaurant, headed by an established and talented Italian chef. The pizzas are lovely, the staff are friendly, and the portion sizes are generous. You can tell they take pride in cleanliness and presentation right from the moment you step inside, and the level of custom shows that people really enjoy this place. It is regularly completely full with diners. My only criticism is it can get rather hot in here, to the point where it can get a little uncomfortable, especially as the place gets busy.”

I opted for the roast lamb, which was cooked to perfection – tender, flavourful, and accompanied by the most delicious gravy. My partner chose the fish and chips, and it was hands down the best we’ve ever had. The portions were generous, and the presentation was top-notch. What truly set this place apart, though, was the exceptional service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. They even took the time to chat with us about the history of the pub, which added a lovely personal touch to our visit. To top it all off, the dessert menu was a dream. We shared a sticky toffee pudding that was simply divine – the perfect end to a fantastic meal. A bit noisy due to the bar and restaurant being connected but that’s to be expected in a bar/restaurant venue on a Saturday night. Overall I would recommend The Olive Tree.”
