The Empress of Blandings is a gorgeous pub on Romsey Road, about 25 minutes from us, we had our support groups Christmas meal there, not only did they cater for our diverse group, they couldn't have been more helpful, the owner rang me twice before our meal to go through my allergies, (unfortunately its a long list) most places just say a blanket no, we can't cater for you, but not here, obviously I couldn't eat most of the menu, but I had the best tasting turkey, very juicy, not at all dry. I am so very impressed by the whole place, the owner is absolutely amazing, all the staff were polite, kind, helpful, careful, considerate, experienced despite some being very young, they were all absolutely brilliant, the building is fully wheelchair accessible, the tables aren't all so close you feel hemmed in, there is plenty of room to move. The food was fantastic, everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The whole place was absolutely glorious, a real welcoming, homely atmosphere, the Christmas decorations are beautiful and I don't envy whoever put them up or has the task of taking them down. Hopefully we will travel out to this wonderful gem on the road to the New Forest again, it would definitely be worth it.

Lovely lunch. Good varied menu at reasonable prices. Difficult to choose but I had Fajitas. Tasted good but the mixture was a bit oily and the wraps a bit thick and heavy. Hence the drop of 1 star. We were seated in a window which was perfect and the service was attentive but not overso. My friend had the homemade curry and said it was great! Desserts.. we'll I spotted something on the menu which had to be ordered to see it! Burger and chips lol. It was a brioche bun full of chocolate icecream for the burger, strawberry sauce for ketchup, vanilla icecream and cream for mayo and white chocolate fingers for chips. Someone's hot a wacky sense of humour!! To be honest it was delicious but enough for 2 people.

Food portions are massive!! Service was fantastic, the kitchen lost our order and the staff couldn't apologise enough, then the special was finished so we changed one meal. Again a big apology and they kindly rewarded us for the mistakes. We honestly didn't feel we'd been waiting that long and the change wasn't a problem. So thank you for the excellent service and kind gesture, especially as it was our wedding anniversary. Will definitely return.

our first time visiting on the way somewhere last Sunday. we had pre-booked. we arrived earlier but within minutes we were told our table was ready. we were given time to look at the menu. as we waited a guy behind had the prawn cocktail and it looked amazing. we all decide a starter may be too big so all went for the roast. our friend is vegan and had the nut roast. the meals arrived quite quickly and were amazing. I had the lamb my husband had the beef. 5 roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding with parsnip crisps. the whole meal was delicious. we decided to go for a dessert. i had three ice-cream scoops, the other 2 had a sundae each. the pub itself is beautifully decorated and we will definitely return.

The Empress of Blandings Pub & Restaurant is a fantastic spot that strikes a great balance between a classic pub and a quality restaurant. The menu offers a wide and varied selection, with something to please everyone, and the portion sizes are very generous-come hungry! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal. Don’t skip the puddings-they’re absolutely delicious and a real highlight of the experience. A great place for hearty food and a cozy vibe.

We recently had our daughters wedding here. We had the function room upstairs for the service & then this room was used for the disco. We were able to set the function room up the day before and Beth, Sash & the team ensured all was set up for us downstairs in the pub. Nothing was too much trouble & they did an amazing job to ensure the day was perfect and it was! The food was delicious & plenty of it. Thank you soo much all of you for making the day run smoothly and for all your hard work

Returned to this pub after some bad experiences and so glad we did. The food was lovely and great selection on the menu. It has changed management and Beth made us feel we were back at home from the moment we entered. I recommend anyone to take a detour off the motorway and try this pub out. We wish Beth and her team every success and we will be back soon with friends.

Worth leaving the M27 for! Fantastic food, cosy and clean pub with nice garden, good staff, good seating, good ales, interesting decor (also apparently recent change of management, if that makes a difference/you are a local). Had broccoli & stilton soup, whitebait and Duck salad. All delicious, good value, good portions.

A lovely pub, spacious and clean. Good choice of food for adults and a decent children's menu. The starters were generous, we had a baked cheese and whitebait. The lamb was really good and the vegan aubergine curry was fine.
