We had our work Christmas meal here as a friend was playing in the band. Having read the reviews we weren’t sure what to expect. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The 3 course meal for £35 was delicious, beautifully presented (very generous portions) and nothing was too much trouble for the wonderful team looking after us. The drinks were reasonably priced too! We enjoyed the fun of the meat draw and the party atmosphere the band created later in the evening - it was spot on! Delighted we ditched the £60 Christmas menu of a popular restaurant in town for this forest pub. Huge thanks for a great night.

Visited today for my birthday lunch. Very quiet here but a nice gastro pub with excellent food, good portions and a friendly barmaid. Service was very good and the meal deal was great value for money. Nice pub with clean toilets and good garden seating, with a climbing frame for your young children. Will be visiting again soon.

We only ended up here because the pub we had intended to use has stopped offering food. But we are now glad we have discovered this out of the way gem! Excellent home cooked meals at a sensible price, good beer (Wadsworth's), and friendly service. We will definitely continue to come here when we meet up with our friends as a half way point, and only wish we lived nearby!

Lovely atmosphere, really welcoming. We were staying locally at Spot in the Woods for one night for a short break and this pub was walking distance so we popped in for some food and drinks, really reasonably priced for food and food quality. Will definitely visit again if in the area!

The car park was full when we arrived on a Tuesday evening and we regretted not pre booking. We could see it was very busy with all the tables taken but the very friendly staff suggested we sat down in the relaxing area while she got our drinks. Luckily for us a table became free and we were able to enjoy the amazing food and very helpful, delightful staff. Absolutely delicious - thank you. We will certainly be returning but will book next time.

A great find whilst on holiday. Searched local pubs for a quick dinner nearby. It was just past 8pm and whilst others stopped food at that time, this pub was 9pm and they booked a table for us straight away. I took my 10 year old daughter and young dog - both got a lot of attention. They are very dog friendly and also good choice being I am vegetarian - especially Sunday roast. There was a singer performing and she was really good. Staff were very friendly. Food was great. Had such a good time, we booked for a Sunday lunch the next day and had the same experience. As we are nearby often, it will be a regular choice. I would definitely recommend.
