Went there today for Christmas lunch and was left bitterly disappointed. The venue was extremely cold and my mother in law had to eat whilst still wearing her coat as she was cold. The canapes turned up straight away and then the starter. These werenβt too bad. The main meal (Turkey roast) was dire. The only edible thing was the meat (except my mother in laws beef). The potatoes were undercooked, the Yorkshire pudding was rubbery and tasteless and the veg lank and unappetizing (and some undercooked again). My partner had the Christmas pudding which was ok, but I had the lemon meringue which was served cold which was a shame as I was looking forward to a warm dessert. Whilst this is advertised as a pet friendly pub, I didnβt expect to be surrounded by so many dogs in a place where Iβm eating. There should be a separate area for diners with pets. Overall definitely not worth the Β£95pp price ticket.

Was a bit wary given previous reviews but this was next door to where we were staying.. atmosphere was ok. Waiter was great and really friendly. Food was so much better than expected. I had the burger and fries... some of the best fries I've tasted and it was a really good burger, homemade with good ingredients. My Mum had the chicken and ham pie which was also delicious... a good portion of chips and veg on the side. We were warned the pie would take 20 mins which was totally fine and all the food was served very promptly

We booked a birthday lunch over the phone for 7 people 2 of whom were children and one 91 year old for her birthday. Booked Drift Inn for 2pm. We asked if the whole menu was available and we're assured it was. On arrival, the table was not ready, it was not busy, and there was only a limited Sunday menu. We gave one of the staff the birthday cake and we had balloons on the table brought in by us. The food was okay, and was able to accommodate dietary requirements. What let the lunch down was the customer service and general awareness of our needs. Once the mains were done no dessert menu or coffees were offered and the cake, well, we never bothered as there was no indication of, would you like us to bring out the cake. We even provided candles and matches. Very disappointing and we were never even asked if everything was okay. It felt like staff were just going through the motions. So, customer service not great and we paid a fair amount of money for that privilege.

Stopped here on the way back from Scouting Event at Ferny Croft (across the road). I have to say, I'm sorry I didn't know about this hidden gem before. The restraunt is beautiful but on a sunny bank holiday we sat in the garden. Lots of places to sit and the tables are well spaced out. Very different to the packed in feeling of most pub gardens. Very relaxed feeling. There is a lovely children's play area with smaller section for tots and a bouncy castle too. I think my 6 year old would have stayed all day given the choice. The menu is varied enough to cater to most people and the addition of the Barrel and Stone pizzas is fantastic. From an allergy view point, many items are available with gluten and vegan options and the rarity of gluten and dairy free. The kids meals are of a decent size and the starter soup of the day was huge. Food tasted great and was a reasonable price especially given the location. It dog (and wellies) friendly here too which is great when coming in from a forest walk. Staff were really polite and knowledgeable and the service was great. Free WiFi throughout The place is wheelchair accessible and has decent accessible toilets too but there are some gravel areas to the outside. Unfortunately the outdoor tables wouldn't be easily accessed by a wheelchair as the benches aren't removable. We didn't have the wheelchair with us so didnt pursue further and they may have a solution Looking forward to coming back soon to try sunday lunch.

Food excellent, service just OK. Sadly place was empty when we were there for our anniversary. Value for money....not great. Expensive food and drink. Shame as lovely location and I'm sure if busier night and atmosphere would have been better. Probably wouldn't go back as there are many places locally with great food choices that are perhaps better value. I'm sure it's a tough pricing decision when running a restaurant where they try to offer good and different food choices. However in this day and age when money is tight people are going to look for better value. Spending well over a Β£100 for 2 is going to need to be a very special place with absolutely fantastic food that you can't get anywhere else. I wish them well

Me and my husband have visited the restaurant twice now and have thoroughly enjoyed the meals we have had there. We had a Sunday lunch in our first visit, the pork and beef were both lovely and were served with a rich gravy and lovely vegetables and potatoes. On our second visit I had the cod and chips which was cooked beautifully and my husband had the calves liver which he thought was delicious. Everything we had was cooked brilliantly and the service was excellent, we didn't have to wait at all. We also brought our dog with us and the staff were really friendly and welcoming to us all. I would definitely recommend a visit.

The staff were lovely. The food was so overpriced for what you got. Pub has nice garden and lots of space but it took a long time to get served /cheque which seemed strange as it wasn't busy. Just a bit shocked that the tasty terrine starter which was over Β£10 only came with one thin slice of sourdough. And the veggy hot dog was served in a stale bun that had been toasted to hide the staleness and we didn't get any condiments except mayo, no mustard or ketchup, v weird. Not bad, just not worth the money at all.
