Excellent pub with a welcoming feel. I went with a friend for lunch and it was excellent! The staff were so polite and friendly. I would like to mention Nicky and Jordan who were the front of house staff, Scott the head chef and also the other chefs Helder and Nikki. I highly recommend The Hunters Inn, Romsey. We visited The Hunters as a group of 13 for a roast dinner, birthday, and Christmas get-together. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive. We all had roast dinners, and the gluten-free options were excellent — they even provided gluten-free Yorkshire pudding, gravy, and stuffing! Three couples in our group ordered the sharing board roast, which was beautifully presented and came with unlimited roast potatoes and gravy. Overall, the food was high quality and very reasonably priced
Had a great gluten free Sunday and roast. So many places when ordering gluten free just remove items. They substituted nothing and nothing taken off. Was one of the best gluten free roasts I’ve had in a long time. The home made gf Yorkshires are the best I’ve had. If your coeliac and don’t want to feel left behind this is a great place to visit. If you’re not gluten free then the menu is still great would highly recommend.
Here last night for a team meal and had such a great experience. The service was excellent from start to finish — the staff were so friendly and welcoming, which really made the evening. The atmosphere was relaxed and cosy, perfect for catching up with everyone. Food and drinks came out promptly, and it felt like nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a pub with genuine hospitality and a lovely vibe. We’ll be back!
Lovely place, lovely staff! We had our Christmas Eve meal here and it was super busy when we first arrived the staff definitely had a busy night ahead, but we sat down at our table (for 12 people) we all got our food super quickly and all at the same time , got served at the bar quickly also! Overall just had a great experience, food was amazing everyone was impressed and we can’t wait to come back . Fab service especially on such a busy day! This will 100% now be our local pub!✨
Yet another meal in this fantastic pub, ventured out to try something else and paid the price. Returned to tried and tested where not only the food is amazing but the staff are exceptionally great. Thanks to Chris, Emily and team for looking after us and the steak was perfection. See you soon
First time visit since refurbishment and amazed at the lovely welcome and how busy it was early on a weekday evening. We had a great steak with a perfect pepper sauce and a king prawn linguine with a flat bread - home cooked, tasty and generous portion sizes. A real buzz in the place and great value for money. We will be back!!
Well what can I say, absolutely perfect service and amazing food from the newly refurbished Hunter Inn! The pub in its old form with the previous owners was stuck in the past and very dated. The new owners have given it a fantastic new face and really warm and welcoming feel. I went this evening with my family and we were greeted by one of the owners and shown to our table really quickly and really politely. My daughter has a nasty food allergy and they were so accommodating of this and did all they could to make sure it was clear what items were suitable or they could adapt! The food was amazing, really tasty and really good portions. It was clear that The Hunters has stuck to their word on the menu and used local, good quality food! There was a short wait for the food, but long enough it was clearly cooked fresh and not a microwave surprise. My daughter and her allergy was well catered for as stated and she absolutely loved her food and the decor (we played eye spy!) The price was very good for the quality of the food we had. Yes other chain pubs might be cheaper but that's because it's all frozen junk with no effort. All the food we had was clearly fresh and the cooks definitely put the effort in and gave us a great meal. We did note that along with looking after our allergy needs they had lots of vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. The Hunters has a great atmosphere, great refurbishment and its clear the owners are really looking to be part of the community and not just another chain drinking hole. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED!
Good food and good service. It's so nice to see a pub that makes the effort at customer service making your meal that much more pleasant. Couldn't fault them at all. A range of food, starters, mains and desserts. The wife was spoilt for choice which is always a good sign. One of our party was ceoliac and needed gluten free. That had their own separate gluten free menu. Again, no fuss and good selection. Atmosphere was good for a Saturday night. Table service under current circumstances but a nice relaxed evening. Came away feeling very stuffed. My choice meal of the evening was the baled Camebert, Chicken Penang Curry with a sticky toffee pudding. You had to roll me out of there.
