Tucked away on Lyndhurst Road, this charming little spot is everything I needed and more. The moment you step in, you’re wrapped in a warm, homey atmosphere, vintage chairs, lush plants, and the perfect window seat for people-watching or simply enjoying a rainy day. Every single thing is homemade, and trust me, the cinnamon-glazed cake? Easily the best I’ve ever had. Moist, rich, and dripping with creamy glaze… just look at the size of that slice! (Yes, that’s my hand for scale!!). I could honestly spend hours here just soaking in the peaceful vibes. A place where time slows down. Can’t wait to come back

Merritts Coffee Lounge is a friendly cafe in Ashurst. With its roaring fire and comfy seating, it’s a great place to have a coffee and warm up after a winter walk. The menu offers a range of homemade brunch items, as well as delicious cakes. Although it didn’t look exciting, the omelette I had for lunch was absolutely fantastic. My husband had the skillet crumpet with trout, and raved about it. The service was very friendly and welcoming, and it was a great place to start or end a range of lovely New Forest walks. Overall I had a great visit, and if in the area again I would 100% return.

Really special coffee at this super friendly coffee lounge. Also, the food is top quality - I'm particularly partial to the bacon waffles - a very naughty treat! It's 5 stars from me ***** GREAT WALK AS WELL! - to compensate for the cakes there is a beautiful walk just up the road... turn left when leaving the lounge and keep going straight- you end up entering the beauty of the new forest!

A hidden gem on the edge of the New Forrest. Love the artisan decor, the warmth from the log burner and the wonderful food aroma. The food that we ordered was wonderfully presented and truly tasted as good as it looks if not better! Apparently the homemade doughnuts are to die for, though the cakes at the counter looked totally scrumptious. A grear place to dine with lovely owners who make you feel very welcome.

Great food, coffee and atmosphere. I was searching for the best cafe in the New Forest, and this place often came up high in various rankings. After a bit of research and seeing the decor, I decided this was the place to take my friend to. And certainly, it was the right choice. The maple latte was great, and though it was my first time trying pecan pie, I can confidently say it was an excellent pecan pie. The lady running the cafe was very polite, and provided superb service despite being very busy.

Delicious, quirky cafe with a lovely 50’s theme decoration. Food was exquisite and the coffee was excellent. Vegan and vegetarian options available, which are always appreciated! Very good sound track as well and the staff was very friendly. I’m definitely coming back when in this part of the world again! My eggs florentine were novel and delicious!
