Eaten here tonight staff were lovely , but a few things..Chicken flatbread was more cabbage and lettuce than chicken.Chicken was cremated what there was of it.. It should be chicken you can see and should be tender. IT was all salad and sauce.I left nearly the whole plate. As a waitress you think that would be a question. My flatbread wa. We had to order our last drinks by just after 10...as staff told it does not pay for staff to stay on and they said they're were working Christmas day..Staff were great but food not great . 2 other customers said they had been asked to drink up. We spent alot of money . Compared to local competitors like Jolly Sailor, Miller and Carter I felt the food was not the best i did not say anything as were celebrating an engagement. . The price if the food does not reflect the quality ,very poor. We are local but will not be back for food. Staff you we're great..

Visited with the family as part of a larger party of 11 for a Christmas Meal. Lovely setting and the staff were fantastic. Our order consisted of two rump steaks, a plant burger and the signature pork and beef burger. The others in the party had steaks of various description. The food was unremarkably okay but nothing more. The burgers were very dry. The beef and pork burger patties were dry and you couldn't really tell the difference between the pork and the beef. The rump steaks were OK, a little tough but not too bad and had flavoir but we have had better. Don't feel the meal was worth the £96 that we paid for four of us out of the party of eleven. Despite the mediocre meals I was happy to pay the service change as the waitress was excellent.

A very disappointing evening. We ordered a bottle of Rosé and a jug of water. We were given a white wine and when we pointed out the error it was whisked away without apology or acknowledgement. We asked to see the Christmas menu and were told if we hadn't booked the Christmas meal, then we couldn't have it. When booking the table online,we were not given the option. Two of the group ordered the hanging chicken skewers, to be told they had sold out. They opted for trout fillets, to be told that they'd run out of tender stem broccoli and would green beans be okay. Our server came to check if our meal was okay and noticed we hadn't received the water, saying she'd chase it up. We ordered and ate our pudding and still hadn't received the water. We finally received the jug of water as we were finishing our pudding. This is no reflection on our server, who was put in an awkward position, having to keep apologising for the downfalls. When we asked blue light discount, we were told it wasn't applicable during the festive period, despite it being accepted two days previous. This was the busiest night of the festive period and the kitchen was ill prepared and the bar service chaotic.

Ate here as part of a recent work Xmas party. Nice, warm atmosphere inside. Friendly staff. Good range of drinks available, including several draught beer options. The food on the Xmas menu was good on the whole, particularly the roast turkey and sticky toffee pudding. My only minor disappointment was the Teriyaki chicken starter. But, all in all, a very good evening, which deserves a solid 4 star rating.

this was our first visit to Harpers steak house in Southampton and we were not disappointed! From the ease of booking online to receiving the bill at the end everything was exceptional! The staff member, Driton was extremely friendly and welcoming, making us feel at ease as soon as we arrived. The food was absolutely delicious, one of the best steaks we have had in a restaurant in a long time! Not only that but each course came out quickly, was a good portion size and hot! We would definitely recommend Harpers and will certainly be returning.

This was my second visit to Harper's (both for breakfast) and it has been incredible both times. The food here is delicious, the restaurant looks great, and staff are friendly and attentive. I've been unfortunate both times that they have not had the chicken and waffles for breakfast, but I had steak and eggs the first time, and full English this time. Both delicious and cooked to perfection. My wife has had the pancakes both times and she loves them too. I'd recommend this restaurant to absolutely anyone.

The place is very nice and spacious. The service is great, the staff are very friendly and helpful. However I could not put more than 3* for the fish and chips having had fish and chips in a few other places, in comparison the dish wasn't as good. It was nice but the chips were disappointing. My friends tried them too and were not keen either.

Great hotel to stop at, have stopped here multiple times lately with work in the local area. Rooms have been refurbished to a high standard with very comfy beds and top amenities, the only let down for the rooms is that 2 of the rooms i have stopped at lately have had poor sealing windows so you can hear noises from outside. Rooms 13 and 22 i believe. Food in the restaurant was superb, very high standard and same with the service. The buffalo chicken wings and the weighburger are top notch. I would happily stay here again many times over as its always a pleasure. If the manager sees this, then please get the poor sealing windows seen too as this would make the stay a 5* experience all day long :-).

They've nearly got a perfect restaurant here except for the fact that everything lacks flavour! The service was excellent, the decor and atmosphere are lovely but the food lets it down. We had sirloin steak which was fine, not the best I've ever had but good enough. The ribs did have some kind of rub on there but the meat was tasteless and the rub didn't add much. The garlic mushrooms had no garlic, the dauphinoise potatoes looked great but again didn't taste of much. Mac and cheese looked great but didn't taste of much. It's a shame because the presentation is perfect, just they need to get some flavour in the food!
