   This is a wonderful shoe shop that gives excellent service. A lovely family run business, helpful and never pushy. Happy to spend time with the customer and has many styles to suit both women and men. They always seem to have what I want. Parking on the street outside or nearby! Whitchurch (Hampshire)is also a delight to visit!

   Upon arrival at G. Dowling & Son, I was welcomed by Mathew. Is he Mr Dowling's son or grandson? Hmmm. Either or, Mathew certainly understands the subtle nuances of perfect customer service. His product knowledge is outstanding, which again was impressive because it is a standard way above the norm.

   This place is fantastic. As someone with osteoarthritis in both feet who's had various surgeries I needed stiff soled shoes but didn't want anything that looked too old fashioned. The shop is packed with choices of everything from slippers to wellies, trainers, formal and everyday shoes and the owner could not have been more helpful. I will definitely be back and they will be my first port of call for any footwear I need in future. The shop also sells a great range of leather purses, wallets, belts and even recycled leather goods. There are a huge range of insoles and socks, all under one roof. I really can't praise it highly enough. It's a gem of a shop!
