We were well looked after by a Trojan of a landlady- food was hot, quickly served and good quality. I’ve never been served so quickly in a busy pub- a dying art. The ales are very well kept. Lovely atmosphere. We will return

Been here 2 times now. Once for drinks in the garden. The second came here for a Sunday roast. They were very accommodating of us and the kids we had. The food was great - highly recommend the beef and pork roast dinners. The 2 other dishes were the burgers and they were great too. Chefs are great. Honestly service needs to improve. Young girl not confident can barely hear a word she’s saying. Other staff came across just blunt. All look unhappy to be there. Not great for front of house service. Atmosphere is ok - but feels very local clique sometimes. Would come back purely for the chefs food. Also no baby changing facilities at all? Which isn’t great. Pram access through the front was up steps.

Great food. We visited the place for dinner on a Sunday on our way back home. it was very busy and they seemed short staff at the bar and clearing tables, but we were happy with our food and service.

Awful food. My Caesar salad was genuinely the worst salad I’ve ever had. It had a sum total of 5 inedible, deep-fried croutons and four anchovies on top of a few salad leaves. My husband’s burger tasted like it had been re-heated or cooked in a microwave and he struggled to finish it. The garden is a lovely place for a drink but don’t bother with the food.

Haven’t been for years. Was always a great food pub and that’s what we wanted on a sunny May evening, sitting in the garden overlooking a corn field. My Steak and Ale pie was just real basic, not at all inviting. My wife’s chilli also looked pretty average. Shame . £37 with a tonic water and lime and soda.

A really nice country pub with a lot of charm, good food and very pleasant staff, I would recommend visiting for a Sunday roast. The front of the pub is very old with a lovely log fire, perfect on a winter afternoon.

Not been back here since we used to do a regular event at the hall over the road. Forgotten just how brilliant a pub it is. Really well kept range of mostly local beers. Awesome service and even the locals are friendly. What more could you want?
