We love this place, staff are always so welcoming and friendly and our pup always gets treats when we arrive and whilst we're there and gets plenty of fuss from the staff. Always a great selection of beers, love that they always have a good variety of sours. Cosy atmosphere and always end up chatting to people whilst there. Love having this pub as our local.

I used to enjoy this place a few years back — decent spot, once a nice atmosphere — but since coming back, it feels like I’ve walked into a live episode of Grumpy Old Men: Pub Edition. The landlord and his father seem to have made it their life’s mission to redefine “rude.” Customer service? Nonexistent. They’re open half the week, which is probably just enough time for them to recharge their bad attitude batteries. And then there’s Adam. Oh, Adam. The man’s got the patience of a toddler denied a lollipop and anger issues that would make Rumpelstiltskin look like a yoga instructor. One minute he’s glaring, the next he’s exploding like a cartoon volcano, using the kind of language that could make a sailor blush. If you want a pleasant drink and a friendly chat, head to literally any neighbouring pub — you’ll get a warmer welcome from the barstools. And if you really want to see what kind of “customer service” you’re dealing with, just have a look at Adam’s replies to reviews on here and TripAdvisor. They say you can tell a lot about a person by how they handle criticism — and in this case, it tells you everything. Your replies, Adam, really showcase your unprofessionalism… basically, because there isn’t any. I genuinely doubt you’ll outlast your neighbouring businesses at this rate. Five stars for entertainment value, zero for hospitality.

First time for a while very good beer selection and great atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting just make sure you check if they are open or not.

Excellent Chandler's Ford micropub pub in a former shop in a modern building. Eight cask beers on handpump when I visited together with a dozen real ciders. A few tables outside. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Very quirky and unique place. Menu to hand from the bar staff and some table service. Can be expensive but always the option of cheaper drinks. Highly recommended place.

Excellent selection of cask and keg. Very well kept beer. Some of the best kept cask you will get.

The staff's customer service is insane. The best I've ever received at a pub. Really cosy atmosphere, so not one for a rowdy night out. I compare it to similar vibes of going to a nice coffee shop. Also an excellent selection of beers and cider that are constantly changed to keep the selection fresh.

A fantastic little establishment, offering comfort and an amazing selection of beers, with an owner behind the bar who can tell you the story of every drink on offer. If you like something different from your pint, a visit won't disappoint.

What fabulous service! Couldn’t have been greeted any nicer by the owner of this micro brewery. I was stood outside with my dog looking at the signs to see if dogs were welcome when the owner popped his head out the door and asked if he could help. He had me seated outside under the heaters, with a menu, dog had a treat, all in the space of 2 minutes. Even took the time to run through the menu based on my usual tastes. Let me add, this place was full inside too so they were pretty busy. As a local, this is my first visit to the Steel Tank after walking past several times and I’ll certainly be back to try out other beers from now on.
