I was passing when the pub was closed and desperately needing a wee! -and chanced to see landlord outside. Very helpfully opened up for me to use facilities, incredibly helpful. One of nature's true stars, many many thanks! :-)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A proper hidden gem of a pub! Walked into the Cross Keys and instantly felt like part of the furniture — in the best way. Warm, welcoming locals, brilliant bar banter, and that classic pub charm that’s getting harder to find these days. “Traitor’s Gate” had us laughing before we even ordered a drink — what a touch. Inside, it’s like stepping into a time capsule of great nights out, darts trophies, and framed memories. Outside? You’ll find quirky touches like a cider bucket worthy of a summer festival (Bulmers Wild Blueberry & Lime… who knew?). If you’re after a pub with character, good chat, and no-nonsense drinks, Cross Keys is the one. Massive respect to the team keeping it so real.

Great, proper pub with great well kept beer. Call in for a pint or two and see Donna who has been the landlady for over 20 years. A very traditional pub with a proper landlady running a tight ship. Check out the picture on the wall near the bar. Brilliant
