Stayed here recently for 1 night. Pitches are good, toilets clean but very muddy where you connect to the EHU and water. A good site and worth staying at.

On arrival a beautiful entrance, we stayed in our own campervan so I can’t comment on chalets. We arrived at 18.30 and reception was closed , the gate code allowed us access , and our pitch was easy to find , each pitch is beautifully marked with a very clear number so there is no confusion, on what’s yours .Site is well maintained, and although there was work in progress, we feel that this can only improve a lovely site with a fantastic lake , walks children’s play area pet and cycle friendly.

We had such high expectations! The park looked amazing and the communication beforehand was great. But Im sorry but what a nightmare… We arrived in the middle of the night after a long journey. Our little kids had already fallen asleep in the car. When we got to the chalet, it looked nothing like the pictures. The smell in the chalet was terrible, and it was very dirty. We even found a dead grasshopper under the blankets. I ended up sleeping on the couch with my daughter’s blanket from home. Thankfully, the manager came the next morning. They offered us a new chalet, but by then we just wanted to leave. We did receive a full refund for our stay, which we appreciate! We were really disappointed. I hope it wont happen again. In the end, we had to book a new place to stay.

What an experience. Firstly got overcharged £15 on our touring pitch. Set ourselves up, went shopping for supplies and on our return our shower was full of disgusting brown water. (Don’t like to think what it was). Called their out of hours number as the grey waste on our pitch was blocked and had backed up into our shower. They couldn’t come out till the following morning, so I cleaned up the mess and we took our waste pipe out of their grey waste hole. In the morning their maintenance man arrived and was able to unblock their grey waste. Receptionist came over and apologised profusely. I said ‘could we just have our overpayment of £15 back’. She said ‘of course, and more’. She started offering free stays, all my money back etc as I was so grossed out by what had happened. Had a not very pleasant experience in the shower block that morning as I couldn’t use ours in the caravan, even though we had paid for a fully serviced pitch. I was wading in the lady next to me’s soapy water. Anyway needless to say have never received my £15 back and all the promises she made on the day of the blockage appear to have been pie in the sky. Receptionist just said the first things that entered her head that morning, probably because she was embarrassed about what had happened to us. All I can say is their need must be more than mine as they obviously can’t afford to refund overpayments, even though the day we left the Receptionist still assured me I would be refunded and she even took my Bank details to make sure.

Very unfriendly owner and staff ripped our group off at £40 a night each for 7 tiny tents. We had previously agreed to rent all four of the variously sized camping pitches as a general camping area for a group of (mature) visitors from Holland who like to bring one man tents. At the last minute we were made to pay the exorbitant rate or risk them cancelling the booking. We also hired a chalet that was also hiked up by a “cleaning charge” that is not mentioned anywhere on the website. A pity that there is so little choice in the area. We appreciated the nearby bus stop and Jackson’s lovely cafe.

Very nice camping and touring site. Stayed in one of the pods, and it was very warm and well equipped. Showers and toilets are fine, and lots of walks in the local area.

Stayed here in the summer of 2020 and then again towards the end of summer 2022. First time renting a chalet with a small group and the second time hiring a pitch to camp on. Both occasions the staff on the phone and in the office were very helpful and and friendly. Site is always well maintained and a few nice walks nearby. Plenty of swims round the lake if you enjoy fishing. Shower and bathroom facilities also very clean. Conveniently the papa johns that deliver to this location is also very good! No doubt will visit again as it’s not far from London but feels like real countryside.
