De Vere Wokefield Estate is set in a lovely location and the grounds are beautiful, giving the whole place a real sense of history and character. Staying in the mansion house definitely feels authentic, although the rooms themselves are slightly rundown, with older furniture and windows that whistled in the wind. While this added to the charm, it didn’t quite match the “deluxe” description. That said, the facilities are excellent. The swimming pool and gym are great, and there’s a good choice of restaurants and bars on site, making it easy to relax and spend time at the estate without needing to go elsewhere. Overall, it’s a very attractive property with lots to offer, especially if you appreciate historic settings and good leisure facilities.

Really nice hotel rooms. Ideal for a business overnight stay. The 1560 lounge and bar in Mansion House was a nice place to dine and relax. Breakfast in the main building was great too. Highly recommend, would go again. Special thanks to Ellie at reception, great customer service!

I stayed at De Vere for a work function with an overnight stay in the Mansion House. Unfortunately, my room wasn’t ready when it should have been - check-in was from 3pm, but even when I went to collect the keys at 4pm, the room still wasn’t ready. I had to wait over half an hour, and there was no apology, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the view from my room was great, the grounds were beautifully kept, and the facilities were good. The room itself was nice and comfortable. The food was ok - nothing to rave about, but acceptable for the occasion. Overall, my stay was decent, but the check-in experience definitely let it down.

A few days ago, I attended a Bengali wedding at this hotel, and it was such a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was amazing, elegant, lively, and beautifully arranged. The hotel itself felt very posh and comfortable, and everything was well organized. I really enjoyed the event and would definitely recommend this place for weddings or any special occasion.

The staff member on reception named Laila made my heavily pregnant wife and 2 years old stand at reception with luggage for more than half hour and was extremely unfriendly and unpleasant to deal with. She was rude and because of her internal issue with her colleague she even implied that I was lying about making the payment already . Up to the point where I had to show them my bank statement and even than it took her 20 more minutes by the time her nice duty manager came and finally handed us the key. We had such high hopes and expectations but this type of " welcome" ruined our stay and I hope someone from higher management will be taking notice of this Update : Since then the duty manager came to our room to make sure we have everything we need, and then a couple of other staff members we have come across have been really nice and friendly . So let's see , we will have dinner and breakfast as well so I will be updating my review again .

Nice hotel, awesome staff, rooms could do with some more sound deadoning though as you can hear every one walking the corridors and talking. Food is a little average, but overall a good hotel.

Nice room, but food is terrible. Worst pizza I have ever had in the bar area and breakfast was not great either. Dry and over cooked.

Very good experience; we were welcomed by Arnaud and Katia who explained the details patiently. Room was spacious with the only downside being no air conditioning with fairly hot weather. Fans are provided though. Golf course is appealing and driving range is good. Fair pricing too. We'll be back, thanks team!

Really nice hotel conveniently located close to Reading. Really professional staff, clean and well presented rooms. Great views over the golf courses. Let down by the restaurant (The View) which is expensive for food which is okay at best. Breakfast was poor and server areas were dirty and untidy. Wait staff and restaurant manager did very little to make the experience any better.

Great place - great staff. Food a bit pricy but that's hotels for you. Lovely breakfast. Nice rooms. Love the old manor house.
