We started walking the Wayfarers walk and had this as our day 1 stopover. What a great find it was! The pub was full of locals, great vibe for an initial drink. Dinner was beautiful and a great wine list. The venue is a very old coach inn called the Swan and the fitout of the room we stayed in was impeccable, with a number of special touches. The only downside was our room was directly over the restaurant and right next to the road so there was no sleeping until 11pm! And then no sleeping after 6am. Breakfast was cooked fresh which was a real treat. Service throughout was top notch. Highly recommend, but if you are a light sleeper or looking for a long rest maybe try and get a room away from the road. That's what I'll be trying next time

Brilliant little find on the way back up north from the coast; lovley menu with items you won't find in the average pub. Food was fantastic, the pork rolled roast being a total hit with me .. this would be our regular if we weren't 3hrs away ..

We had a great weekend away here at this dog friendly location, the rooms were very nicely presented and clean with a comfy bed. We had breakfast and dinner both days which was excellent. The bar does get very busy in the evening but the staff are very attentive and get to you asap.

Had lunch there. Food was terrific. Good selection of ales. Outside seating/dining area sheltered but not pretty. Dog water bowls available. Landlady was lovely and had dog treats to hand!

A sweet place, great choice of drinks on offer and the food menu was very good indeed. I was going to have a main, but because of the choice my colleague and I ordered starters, mains and shared a dessert for two. Very chilled atmosphere. Well worth the visit.

A lovely ambience and a welcoming place...we popped in with our 5 dogs and were made to feel very at home. Will return for food. Getting parking was a little tight!

This was our first visit to the Bel & Dragon at Kingsclere and we will certainly visit again. Staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. There was a welcome fire helping to create a great ambience in the place. We ordered z light lunch and we were all very happy with our choices.

Charming pub in nice village. The private dining room was perfect and the service was really good - friendly and knowledgeable. The food was good and beautifully presented. Criticisms: my chicken was too salty and the portions seemed small.

We arrived at 4.30 and asked if we could have food. We were told yes, if we could wait until 6pm when kitchens opened. We said that was fine and waited at the bar for an hour and a half with drinks. At 6pm we asked if we could be moved to a table for food and were spoken to so rudely by a member of staff, who told us we should have asked earlier for a table, that two of our party left immediately as they felt so uncomfortable. It’s a shame because the bar staff were quite nice and the wine was fine!

Nice and friendly pub. Only popped in for a drink but looks like a nice menu. Plenty of different events and themed evenings on offer.
