   A True Home Away from Home I stay at The Winchfield regularly for work, and I genuinely couldn’t ask for a better place. From the moment I first walked in, Lyn and the team made me feel completely at home. They always put me in the same room, which might seem like a small thing—but to me, it means a lot. It’s thoughtful touches like that which make all the difference. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the rooms are always clean and comfortable, and the food and drink downstairs are spot-on. It’s got that rare mix of local charm and personal service that makes you feel like more than just a guest. Thanks to Lyn and everyone at The Winchfield for making each stay so easy and enjoyable. It’s more than just a place to stay—it’s a little home away from home.

   Another excellent stay at this welcoming and good value pub. As always we were very well fed and watered! An ideal stop off location for cyclists and walkers (King Alfred’s Way is close at hand). Lyn, Pat and team are excellent hosts and go that extra mile. The garden and terrace provide a great spot for an evening sundowner.

   I stayed over here for a night and was extremely pleased with the quality of the rooms and the service. On entering the place, I could tell that it was a very cozy and relaxing place to stay in. The pub - likewise - had a very cozy atmosphere and would evidently be a great place to dine and drink at. Particular call-outs go to Pete and Lynn, who added to the overall experience with their friendly and welcoming service. Would love to stay in this place again if I'm in the area and would highly recommend the same to others. Great place to relax away from the city.

   Stopped in with family for lunch on Thursday during half term. Place was empty which should have rung bells. Staff were friendly and service was quick, but both burgers and fish tasted of frozen and reheated rather than fresh, and fish portion was tiny. Not great value given the prices.

   Travelled here for lunch and so so friendly and super kid friendly too Food options were perfect for both adults and kids whilst the play area had all fully working, clean, safe and really good equipment (football goal, decent sized trampoline and more!) Great service to all round from the moment we booked by phone to the moment we left One lovely lady even offered our kids a sweet at the end of their meal as a reward (after asking us first in confidence!) Definitely going back!
