   The Corn Exchange in Wallingford is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of the town centre. Housed in a beautiful Grade II listed building dating back to 1856, it’s a venue that seamlessly fuses historical charm with vibrant contemporary arts. Whether you’re catching a film, a local play, or a live performance, the experience is always warm, welcoming, and memorable. Run largely by passionate volunteers, the atmosphere is refreshingly friendly and community-driven. Staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, and the intimate size of the auditorium creates a lovely, cosy setting to enjoy theatre or cinema. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like part of something local and special. The programming is impressively varied. The Corn Exchange screens a mix of mainstream and independent films, hosts regular live performances (including five productions a year by the talented Sinodun Players), and puts on an eagerly anticipated pantomime every January. Matinee performances are also a nice touch, catering to those who prefer earlier showings. Technically, the venue doesn’t disappoint either – with high-quality digital projection and surround sound ensuring an immersive viewing experience. There’s also a small bar and coffee shop on-site, perfect for a pre-show drink or a catch-up afterwards. Highly recommended – a cultural treasure in the heart of Wallingford.

   Fantastic community theatre and cinema. Managed and staffed by volunteers, it's a great asset to the town. Featuring a fully licensed foyer bar, it's rather decadent to be able to watch a film in a "proper" cinema setting with a glass of wine or a pint! You can also pop in over Friday and Saturday lunchtime for coffee and cakes. The Sinodun Players amateur dramatic society are based here and put on five productions a year, including the very popular pantomime. With their own costume, prop and set construction departments they always offer a high quality theatre experience. In between these performances the theatre becomes a cinema thanks to a modern digital projection system and surround sound. The venue also hosts other live performances (comedy or touring small cast/one person shows) and screens "as live" events from other theatres, ballet, and concerts.

   Saw a film here - theatre-ranked seating gave excellent views from the back. Really pleasant environment. Not too far from Wallingford's main car park, which doesn't charge after 6pm. An enjoyable evening out.

   It is better since it has been refurbished but still a problem with the leg room. Spells of interesting and varied programmes such as live dramas, films and operas and then nothing so good for several weeks or months. Need to review their programme schedule.
