We came here for dinner and ordered a chicken burger and pork ribs with mashed potatoes. The chicken burger was fantastic, the chicken breast was juicy and topped with cheddar cheese, and the bun was surprisingly tasty. I’m not sure what kind of bun they use, but it was definitely better than a standard burger bun. The pork ribs were also excellent; everything was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. The service was attentive and very helpful throughout our visit. We recommend booking a table in advance, as the restaurant gets quite busy, especially on weekends and during the Christmas season. The location is very convenient, just across from Winchester Cathedral. Overall, it was a great dining experience.

Had a fantastic one night stay here! Thanks to Bradley for a great welcome! The room was fabulous with a view toward the Cathedral. We ate here in the evening and for breakfast the next morning (delivered to our room for no extra charge!). The food, service and general ambience were superb. We had salmon as a special and the very tender lamb stew. Deserts were spotted dick and cheesecake. For breakfast basically a full English with fresh juice, toast and tea. If you are looking for a top class experience in a location second to none you must come here! Highly recommended!

Delicious food, we came on a Sunday and we booked ahead which was necessary as the restaurant was fully booked! I had a steak, and my partner had the pork shoulder roast. As an FYI, the roast offers only 1 meat and 1 veg option, which I think varies by week. Both meals were DELICIOUS, quick service, large portions, and friendly staff! Shared a bread and butter pudding for dessert which was lovely too.

We stayed here for the Christmas markets. What a jem of a find. Literally opposite the Cathedral. Fabulous room with lots of little extras that made it feel really special. A great restaurant/bar below which has great waiting staff & a delicious varied menu. I cannot recommend a stay highly enough.

I came in for lunch yesterday around 12 noon without a reservation, and i was served by a young man called Danny. He was attentive and made sure everything was clean and sorted on my table despite looking quite busy with other things. I had a ploughmans with ciabatta and the bread was lovely and soft. I felt comfortable to ask questions, i Look forward to coming back!

Lovely, cozy room. Every need is seen to with robes, slippers, toiletries, coffee, tea, small refrigerator filled with water and other drinks. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are relatively quiet for being above a pub. Nothing is too much for the very helpful staff! Breakfast is included. It was ok. Standard pub fare. We had drinks in the pub, which has a genial atmosphere. Parking is difficult to find. We ended up parking in a garage blocks away after dropping off our luggage. I suggest using the back alley door. All in all, we had an enjoyable stay and would return.

Beautiful spot in Winchester, lovely old building, food and drink are excellent and the staff are always very good. Pricey but you're paying for the location and ambience. Nice place to visit for a treat in summer when sitting outside in good weather or in the restaurant / bar on an evening.

Came for lunch on a cold, rainy day in December. It was super cozy inside the dining area, with a nice fireplace and old wood beams. The food was also delicious and the service prompt and friendly. I would recommend checking this out if you are in Winchester.

The staff have been absolutely wonderful. We travelled at short notice from Kent to meet friends coming from Somerset. They were fully booked for lunch... so offered us a table in the bar then created a table in the restaurant for us. Our friends were 90 minutes late because of crazy traffic and the staff couldn't have been more relaxed and kind. Just wonderful... and the food was good too!
