We were very surprised to see the hotel after seeing a 7.5 star rating! It's absolutely gorgeous, proper high end, but the prices don't reflect that. At Β£75 for a room with two breakfasts was ridiculously cheap for what we got. The hotel was magnificent, the room large, comfortable, well equipped and clean. Breakfast was tasty, hot and well cooked. We paid an awful lot more for much less. We'll be staying again

This review is purely on my experience in the gym. I'm a member at the gym space at the hotel. For what you recieve it's overpriced. It's a small space with limited equipment. Whilst the equipment is a little old (I don't mind this, it's functional) my biggest criticism is the layout. The free weights room in particular can only have 4-5 gym members before it's cramped. Plus the smell of BO due to it being so enclosed is overwhelming when busy. The gym staff however are extremely friendly and very helpful. The gym is clean and other gym members are also very friendly. So despite it's flaws it's a nice place to gym when you pick a quiet time. It is also well located and there's plenty of parking.

I stayed at this hotel recently and, unfortunately, my experience was far below expectations. The online photos show a glamorous, well-kept property, but the reality is very different. The hotel is clearly in need of major renovation β almost every corner shows signs of neglect. The restaurant entrance floor is damaged and unsafe, carpets in the rooms and corridors are visibly dirty, and there are clear signs of wear and decay throughout (including doors, furniture, and skirting areas). These are not minor cosmetic issues but signs of long-term lack of maintenance. The service in the restaurant was equally disappointing. I ordered drinks three times (twice for Pepsi and once for water), yet never received them. Despite polite reminders, the waiters appeared to forget or simply ignore my order while serving other tables promptly. Overall, it gives the impression that the hotel is struggling financially β possibly cutting corners on cleaning, maintenance, and staff training. For a property that presents itself as high-quality, this is unacceptable. I have asked my employer to cancel my next two stays. I sincerely hope management will take this feedback seriously, invest in essential repairs, and provide proper staff training. Until then, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone expecting a comfortable or professional experience.

Rooms are nice. The balcony door did not close fully so I could hear a lot of wind and road noise, but that was fine for me. Breakfast and dinner service was good. Standard English hotel breakfast. The bar service was acceptable. The on-site parking is great. I didn't use the pool area.

Basic room, a bit dated, but a comfortable bed and you could control the heating of the room which was perfect in -2 degrees! We ordered room service and food took an hour to come and was poor, I had a Cajun chicken burger which had the blackest avocado Iβd ever seen on it and the smallest chicken breast and garnish and a chicken, bacon & avocado sandwich again with black avocado. I sent back the burger and it was made with fresher ingredients, but it did take an hour again. The fish finger sandwich had lovely fish but no other garnishes on, despite what was advertised. The onion rings were delicious and fresh though! We used the spa facilities in the morning, again the pool was dated and freezing cold, obviously not heated. The lady using it before us said it was the coldest sheβd ever felt it. Even the jacuzzi had cold jets making it unpleasant to sit in for too long. All of the facilities were very clean though and nothing was broken or dangerous. Breakfast in the morning was great, my only criticism would be Iβd like larger glasses so you can have a bigger drink of water with your food. Overall I donβt think this should be a 4* hotel, it was a pleasant stay but I have stayed in 3* hotels that were much nicer.

Greeted with a warm welcome and a coffee. All the staff were polite and did their best to make you welcome. Our room had a few problems but they were quickly corrected. Great pool, enjoyed the swim. Thank you to staff for serving our dinner at a later time for our coach party.

Place itself is older in style but still feels nice. Room was great, very clean. Evening meal and breakfast were good (special shout-out to the lady on breakfast that I can only describe as whimsical, like something out a Disney film. great service). Not 5 stars due to the cleanliness of the pool and changing rooms. Really quite dirty. Very good for the price.

We attended for my sister's hen do weekend. The room we had was really nice, aspects of it needed touching up (windows and shower was poor) however the beds were incredibly comfortable. The receptionists were very welcoming and friendly and helpful and the location is perfect as everything is within 15 minute's drive. Would stay again!
