The drive there is always interesting. Make sure your car can handle climbs. Was initially booked to stay at Splashlands but upgraded to Alton towers Hotel itself because our previous room had a funky smell. The difference in room quality is pretty obvious; Alton towers hotels rooms are pretty spacious and well decorated. Room came with a large cuddly teddy bear for the little one. Really good deal including dinner and breakfast.

βI recently stayed at the Alton Towers Hotel for a festive break. While there were some highlights, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. Here is the breakdown of our stay: βThe Atmosphere βOn the positive side, the hotel felt very Christmassy. The decorations were lovely, and they really managed to capture that magical holiday feel which the kids enjoyed. βCheck-in & Service βThe arrival process was frustratingly slow. The booking system failed the first time around, and there were limited staff available to assist. βDining & Food Quality βThe biggest disappointment was the catering. We had both an evening meal and breakfast, and the food was sub-standard across the board. βThe Food: Iβm still feeling the effects of the breakfast; the bacon was so greasy/poor quality that it is still repeating on me 8 hours later. βThe Coffee: A word of warning to fellow caffeine loversβhighly recommend staying away from what they call "coffee." It was honestly yuk. βFinal Verdict: While the festive vibes are there, the lack of maintenance, slow service, and poor food quality make it hard

Another Santa Sleepover and every year it doesn't disappoint! Our son is autistic and has additional complex needs, all of the staff are so understanding and helpful. Highly recommend The Secret Garden restaurant, the food was fantastic and you never had to wait long for the buffet to be refilled. Lovely staff, comfy beds, and great entertainment.

First thing is staff are very good! Thats what makes the experience a 5 star one! Rooms are amazing! Very comfortable with all the ambiance you could hope for. However the noise from hallways is as if there is no door on your room at all. Staff are very helpful and obviously knowledgeable about the hotel and how to help. The food in the evening was top notch, really enjoyed the buffet carvery!! Every area of the hotel is an experience and they've really gone all out on the decor!

Very hesitant to leave a review (Iβll add I never do this but I felt I had to) Iβve stayed at this resort several times in the different resorts. Including Christmas 2024 & 2025. Being very excited with 3 small children, Iβve found Christmas 2025 to be no way near as good as 24. With the price increasing and the whole stay becoming more poor. The prices are absolutely ridiculous Β£8 for the cheapest pint of beer, the food was poor , at breakfast it was frozen bread I understand but atleast Thor it out fully before putting it out. Picking up the bread with frozen lumps in the middle, waterd down Apple & orange juice & not enough things out so was always something missing waiting letting breakfast go cold before the missing items come out. The cook was lovely but looked stressed & rushed off her feet. The beds are comfy in the room and room was clean but found the whole experience really poor for the Β£600+ I payed for one night!! One of my children are SEN & with booking only 2 days prior I was told at guest services there wasnβt anything Iβd be able to do with the fast track options as they were at βfull capacityβ however upon walking round the very few rides open there were no people even waiting at the fast track gates???? The fast track for the splash landings wasnβt very fast either I do think this needs a review as still having to Que and the busyness of it is very overwhelming & we had a few meltdowns. I wouldnβt be staying again for the Christmas sleepover as I really donβt think itβs worth the money. I wouldnβt pay anymore than Β£250/300 I think the price was ridiculous

Absolutely amazing stay! We went for the Pirate Takeover with our 5yr old son and it was brilliant from start to finish. He loved the Pirate day, there was plenty for him to do and the shows were great. The hotel was just amazing, the room was brilliant (moon voyage room). He loved his little bunk bed area, which was a great idea being slightly separate from the rest of the room. It was very comfortable, the only slight snag is the heater wasn't very good. The hotel itself was beyond belief and way exceeded expectations. The kids entertainment was great and he loved dancing to the show the two pirate girls put on, they were really good and so friendly with him. The staff were all lovely. He loved the pirate ship in the bar. The food was really good. The waterpark was part of the package and was great. The mini golf was really good as well, just very busy. All in all a brilliant stay and my son keeps asking when we're going again!! We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend. Thank you to the hotel staff for making it a brilliant stay for my son.

Went for the Santa stay over and it was well worth it. The park has enough rides open for the little one's. The food on the night was really nice and the rooms where comfortable. Breakfast was well worth it. Only problem was the splash landing pool was really busy so had to wait to get dressed and dried but was fun.

Me my wife and my 1 year old daughter went for a night and stayed in the Alton Towers Hotel. Our room was spacious and clean when we arrived. We were provided with plenty of clean towels and there was a cot for our baby. However the rooms are dated and in need of an update. It's just me but I think every hotel should provide smart TVs with YouTube etc capabilities. The service from Mick on the first day was absolutely amazing. He took us to our room and provided information on the resort and timings etc. He also provided us with a fridge (our roon didn't come with one). He was a star. As were most of the staff but for one lady in the breakfast area. I didn't get her name but she gave us the wrong information about breakfast. We had booked breakfast for 7am and when we arrived at 7am we were told by her that we had to come back at 7.30am. When we came back at 7.30am another staff member said that the restaurant was in fact open at 7am. We lost half an hour because of misinformation. Our evening order on the first night was also 20 minutes late and was only provided once I phoned reception. Would definitely recommend for a night stay.

Super nice hotel with breakfast buffet. Wouldn't say there was a great range of options for it, plus not all refillable drinks were available, but the food that was available tasted very good and staff were friendly. The rooms are nicely themed and with comfortable beds, TV and essentials provided (shower stuff, hairdryer, nice little table with plugs near so you can charge your phone, thermostat). We had bunk beds in our room for 2 with an activity book + pencils so it's very ideal for families with children. Dinner and drinks were also very nice (also pricey), they do good pizza :) Expect to spend a lot to stay here...but it is understandable since it's a hotel for a big theme park.
