Amazing upgrade from the old owners. Great rustic interior, great food and drinks, only down side is the car park but there are plenty of places to park in town and walk to here! Well worth the visit if youβre in the area!

Wonderful evening at The Hart last night. On possibly the busiest night of the year, the service was outstanding. We opted for The Hart for our office festive dinner and were not disappointed. Great atmosphere, attentive, friendly staff and delicious food. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you

A group of us went for lunch midweek and we had a great time. Itβs not long been taken over and the refurb is absolutely lovely. Katie looked after us and she was fab, friendly, bubbly and efficient. Two of us had the set menu which was 2 courses for Β£16.99 - it was so delicious and of high quality. All 6 of us loved our meals and will definitely be returning very soon.

We had a lovely stay at the Hart over the weekend. Recently modernised, high quality room, super comfortable bed, very nice bar area and Christmas decorations. Excellent breakfast. Great value for money, we were pleasantly surprised and would definitely come again!

First of all, Izzy was absolutely brilliant. If it hadnβt been for her, this review would be very different. She was attentive, professional and really kept things running smoothly despite the challenges around her. We were seated in the private function room, which was beautiful at first. However, it soon became overcrowded with large family groups, and the noise made it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere. Children were running about and playing iPads loudly, which really spoiled what could have been a lovely experience. The food itself was good, but it took quite a long time to come out, and we ended up being there for nearly three hours. By the end, everyone was overheated and overstimulated. The younger members of staff seemed unsure of what they were doing at times, with desserts being taken to tables that hadnβt even had their mains yet. Thankfully, Izzy was there to guide them and keep things as organised as possible. We would come again, but definitely not if we were seated in that same room under similar circumstances. This place has great potential. The space is lovely and the food is good, but the room was clearly overfilled and the service, apart from Izzy, needs a bit more training.

Haven't been for some time so hadn't realised a lunch bar so no choice from a menu. The hot food offered a wide & tasty selection to choose from at an incredibly low price. Service was good despite being quite busy & a good selection of wines & Gins.

Helpful reception staff, comfortable room and bed, great breakfast. HOWEVER.. At 5.32am on Saturday the cleaning staff started dragging tables and chairs around in the room beneath where I was sleeping. Why they didnβt lift and move them, I canβt comprehend! The noise in the room they were cleaning must have been outrageous, but they clearly didnβt consider the (no longer) asleep guests of the hotel! Their cacophony lasted for 40 mins and ensured that there was no chance whatsoever that I wouldnβt get back to sleep, and consequently I also would not have a well-rested enjoyable day out. It was teeth-grindingly frustrating and would cause me to never stay there again! At breakfast there were 2 other guests who independently commented on the early morning cacophony - it was a really active topic of conversation. Such careless and thoughtless behaviour is so damaging, since all of those people (inc me) will definitely look elsewhere next time they stay in Uttoxeter.

Was looking for somewhere different so went White Hart, it had an up and down reputation. We were happily surprised staff were really lovely, and food was quite traditional with a slight twist that made all the difference. Will definitely be going back reasonably priced, nice food and a good atmosphere.

This is a rather late review but we stayed here for Ladies day earlier in the year(21st-23rd July). The service was outstanding and the staff are in a league of their own. It was a breath of fresh air seeing young, polite and very respectable bar staff, serving punters with such decorum and poise. The staff here are an absolute credit to the hotel manager who you can see is very involved with this business and has a direct impact on how this establishment is ran. The rooms were lovely, comfy beds and clean bathrooms too. We would like to thank everyone for such a wonderful 2 night stay, it really was the icing on the cake. This hotel is walking distance from the race course so I definitely recommend it if you're going to watch the racing. Thank you!! (Sorry this review is so late!). Emma & Glenn.

After a day in Alton Towers, we were ravenous and sought somewhere nearby to eat. We arrived at 5.30pm. Reception area and seating looked comfortable but had to go and look for someone to ask if they were serving food as it was empty. We were advised that food started at 6 so if we took a seat, ordered a drink and our food, it could be served to us just after 6 so we decided to stay. At 6.05, the waiter advised us one of our food orders (placed 35 minutes previously) had run out. The young lad serving us was good and I'd imagine was still learning the ropes. At 6.30, his manager instructed him to advise us food was being plated up and would be out in a minute. At 6.50, the lad returned to say it was definitely being plated up now as he had watched it. Dreadful behaviour by the management. Food came out 1hr 25 after ordering. Risotto was a disaster, steak medallions were tough even though they appeared to be rare/medium without being asked how we'd like them cooked. Not once did management come near us and we'll make sure we never return.
