Wedding cancelled due to owner of the lodges personally attacking my fiancée via text message. To break it down we arranged to view the orangery which we booked for our wedding and the lodges on the same day which was agreed with both parties. The lodges told us we couldn’t view inside as they had guests- this was discussed prior to us coming and was told we can look at the land and say hello. The Orangery (our wedding venue) told us about a honeymoon suit the lodges had available and have we booked it. We said no but would discuss this as we are going to the lodges anyway. The owner of the lodges (Aaron Chetwynd) told us they’re not affiliated with the honeymoon suit and would send me a link for me to book it but Anna is on the property and I can speak to her about it. I agreed. Aaron sent the attached message to me instead of his wife personally attacking me for not only being from Manchester but also for being boring and should he tell me she’s not available so she doesn’t have to speak to me. She didn’t answer the door where Aaron told us she would be available to help us with any queries regarding this honeymoon suit. 5 minutes passed by and her son came onto the property coincidentally. His son explained the honeymoon suit is under renovation he is doing the painting personally and it would be finished by my wedding. When I showed him the text his dad sent me he tried to play it off as he was trying to shut the conversation down as it’s “boring”. I explained that it’s not very professional and as the son to the owner you should rectify the situation and apologise for the error made. Anna came out from the door we had been knocking on and asked us why we’re still on the property when we’ve been told we can’t view the lodges. I explained I wanted an apology for her husband’s behaviour to which she responded “should I apologise for all my husband’s mistakes?” We tried to mediate the conversation but Anna escalated the matter by filming us, getting into my fiancé’s face wagging her finger, going to grab his phone when he went to film her getting agressive and then threatening to call the police if we didn’t leave her land. She shouted she didn’t need our money and we couldn’t have our wedding guests stay there. We left immediately to speak to the Orangery who we thought weren’t affiliated with the lodges as they told us they’re owned and ran by Stafford Council to ask about further accommodation. It’s about a minute walk from one venue to the other. In that short space of time the owners of the lodges had rang the Orangery saying we were being aggressive on their property which was false but never told them they had been derogatory and rude to me via text message. Aaron is one of the directors of the orangery and he thinks this is an acceptable way to deal and speak about paying customers who were only trying to spend more money by booking more rooms and ask about disability access. We booked the Lodges through a third party provider who reviewed our complaint and the text message I received as well as the evidence Anna sent in of “us being aggressive on her property and abusing her” and they awarded us a FULL refund. To say Anna shouted she didn’t need our money she tried to put up a fight with Sykes cottages to ensure we wouldn’t receive a refund for her husband’s damning text message. We had our wedding booked for 8 months and this whole experience has been heartbreaking as we’ve had to explain this situation which is none of our fault to family, friends and professionals we booked for what was meant to be the most special day of our lives. Book the lodges or the orangery for your wedding and run the risk of being called rude and derogatory names either before or on the day of your wedding when all you wanted was to book more accommodation for your guests to stay in.

Brilliant! I stayed for two nights with family and there are 4 double bedrooms with a good living/dining room and kitchen! A nice touch is the stable's cat who insists on coming in and joining you as if he was your own family cat for years!! we named him Gary!! Very splendid accommodation, beautifully decorated. On a very minor negative point, some of the bedding needed to be replaced and more extra toilet rolls would have been useful. All in all a very fabulous place to stay.

I would highly recommend Ingestre Lodges as somewhere to stay especially after a wedding. We had a wonderful reception at Ingestre Hall and it was a great pleasure to be able to relax and discuss our special day in such beautiful and comfortable surroundings with family and friends. The accomodation is very stylish and homely providing everything you could need .The open plan living room is very spacious, the fully fitted kitchen is well equipped, the beds are sumptuous and the bathrooms luxurious. An amazing and truely memorable experience.
