The location of this guest house suited my needs as it was only 15 min walk from Eleven, the music venue. I was a bit dubious about leaving my car parked on the street without CCTV. The family room was very basic and clean. It was furnished with a double bed and bunk beds which made it difficult to access the bathroom.
In the room that I had. The wallpaper was pealing off the wall at the joints. The walls had dirty marks on as if someone had put their dirty shoes or trainers on the wall. The big mirror in the room had a message on it, probably written by a previous guest. There was no wardrobe, but there was a rail to hang things from with no hangers to hang clothes. There were no towels available to use. A lot of noise came into the room from the people outside, nothing to do with the guest house. The area is a residential area that you normally think would be a bit quieter. The road that the guest house is on is not really a main road, but it's used as a rat run. The room my companion had was a lot better cleaner, and it had the load of hangers that I only found out about when we came to leave. In that room, just like the one I had, there were no towels.

From the moment we arrived, we found the location to be incredibly convenient and easy to get to, which was a huge plus. The guest house itself exudes a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with comfortable accommodations that made us feel right at home. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the food. Each meal was lovely, offering a delightful array of flavors that left us eager for the next dining experience. The attention to detail in both the presentation and taste was evident, and it truly enhanced our overall experience. In summary, Victoria Guest House is a hidden gem that we wholeheartedly recommend. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a comfortable base to explore the area, this place has it all. Friendly staff but that's as good as it gets. The hotel is more like a hostel. First off there is no reception, greeted by an absolute gentleman but he's sat waiting in the car park on an old school chair for you... Rooms are so basic. There is a Bed and a toilet. That's about it, was handed a clean towel on arrival, luckily I opened it to find a nice yellow stain. This was quickly swapped by the gentleman but new one just as bad. Their is a community kitchen, it has no tea or coffee facilities or milk, it also doesn't serve any food. The place felt more like a hostel/half way house than a hotel. On a positive note if you are happy with just a bed and a toilet you will love it. Personally not for me, if iam paying 4star money I want 4star room and service.
Easy enough to find and about 10 minutes drive to Stoke-on-Trent centre. Good sized room, clean and tidy and all that you need. Car park at the rear or street parking if you want. Good English breakfast in the morning and friendly hosts.
Top little place, quiet and nice rooms. Wi-Fi is excellent host are lovely people.
I stayed in a single room for one night and it should be noted the price was incredibly reasonable (£30 inc breakfast) compared to brand names like Premier Inn and Travelodge who were each quoting £120+ in the same area for the same night! The owners were also very friendly and I felt safe inside. That said there were some points which are worth highlighting for those looking to stay in the area and considering this property... • The standard rooms are not NOT em-suite. There are separate toilets and a bathroom shared between multiple rooms. Perhaps I've been spoilt at places I've stayed when traveling but this is the first time I've had this when not at an Airbnb in someone's house. There was a small hand sink in my room which at least allowed me wash my face and hands before bed without leaving the room. Oh, on the subject of water sadly the water pressure was lacking and I did feel I hadn't really been able to wash my hands properly. • I'm reasonably tall, a little over 6 foot, and my ankles were hanging a few inches off the end of the bed, unconformable but can be tolerated for one night. • There is wi-fi and in the hallway it was fine, unfortunately in my room it was so bad I've written this review as a note to upload tomorrow when I get a better signal. • There is no desk, at least in the standard single room. I did plan to do some work on my laptop but gave up. The slow WiFi also contributed to this decision. • The shared shower and toilets were basic but did the job reasonably enough, just hope you're not all running to use them at the same time! Overall the room was small but clean. The bed was comfortable and for one night I can ignore the above issues, especially when saving £100 on other options. That said if you can find a big name brand for £50 or so then you're probably better off taking that option instead.
Brilliant place to stay, quiet, secure and clean. Very friendly owners who will help you with everything you need. Secured parking at the back and Cooked Breakfast included! I will Definitely come back.
Outstanding, everything that makes a great British b&b. Starting with the owners who couldn't be friendlier and more caring about the service they provide, really comfy bed and characterfull clean bedroom and en suite. Better WiFi than most chain hotels and an excellent fresh well cooked breakfast. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
