Had a great time. Clean fast running water for swimming - so much fun. It was very busy but everyone was kind and polite and took turns diving/jumping in.
Brilliant place to come out in the summer. It was VERY cold and I definitely recommended wearing shoes when swimming in it. Deep at certain parts but you have to be careful when jumping in because it also gets quite shallow. Easy to get to on bus (number 1) and train, not a long walk from either bus stop or trainstation. Wasn’t very busy when we went and we were there from 10-4.
This is my absolute favorite spot for wild swimming — peaceful, refreshing, and surrounded by nature. There’s also private fishing available and scenic trails just a short walk from the station, making it easily accessible. Parking is available near the station too, which adds to the convenience. A hidden gem for outdoor enthusiasts!
Great Wild swimming near Winchester. The earlier u go the better. Crowded otherwise. Lovely walk from Shawford's station. Easy access. Kids & dogs friendly.
Good place for dog walking and is along the Itchen Way walk. Can be very busy during the summer.
Perfect for walking, hiking & dog walking. Nice views along the river & if lucky you may even see wildlife. Some spots along the river allow you to dip your toes in to cool down or for your dogs to have a swim.
Picturesque lock and waterside in tranquil location. Though in summer can be busy it's an amazing place to wild swim
Busy Sunday, lot's of walkers & digs enjoying the sunshine. My friends, myself & our dogs enjoyed our swim, water was 9° good fun had by all
Great scenic spot not far from local car parks, two bridal ways cross at this beautiful pool on the river Itchen so always plenty of cyclists/walkers/swimmers on the weekend.
