First time here; should have visited sooner! Staff, atmosphere and decor are top notch for an enjoyable experience. Lost a star on food ONLY because they left the hard tendon bit that connects a scallop to its shell, and because the salad plate dressing is a bit crude. Summary: food is tasty, generous and good value; staff are loud, courteous and fun. I'll go again
I had a fantastic experience at Giuseppe’s Italian Ristorante in Southsea. The service was warm and welcoming from the moment I arrived, and the staff went above and beyond to make the evening feel special. The ambience is perfect — cozy, authentic, and full of charm, like stepping into a little corner of Italy. And the food… wow. The calzone was absolutely enormous, freshly made, and packed with flavor. Easily one of the best I’ve ever had! Generous portions, great atmosphere, and friendly service — what more could you ask for? Highly recommend Giuseppe’s for anyone looking for genuine Italian hospitality and a memorable meal in Portsmouth.

What a lovely place! I took the family out for dinner (7 of us) and we had a great time. Comfortable atmosphere, great food, fantastic service. The wait staff were charming and friendly. They were a bit forgetful (had to order a few things twice), but we didn't mind. It was actually a bit comical. And I couldn't understand the Italian guys too well, but they were absolutely lovely, and it just added to the charm of the place. The calamari had good flavour, but it was a bit tough (this is often the case in restaurants). Other than that, everything was delicious! I wasn't expecting much from the House Red Merlot (house wines usually aren't great), but it was very nice wine. As were the cocktails. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and it was probably the best spaghetti and meatballs I've ever had. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. We will definitely go back.

The star of the show, of course, is the incredible pizza. One of our favorites is the Pizza 3Colore, with its delicious blend of flavors and perfect crust. Every time we visit, we can't resist ordering it. But that's not all this restaurant has to offer. The homemade wine is another must-try, and it's become a regular order for us. It's a perfect complement to the delicious food and adds to the warm, friendly atmosphere. The staff is friendly and always happy to chat. Overall, if you're looking for a taste of Italy in a warm, friendly environment, this Italian restaurant is an absolute must-visit.
Last minute Christmas day booking led to us having one of the best dining experiences. Fantastic staff, amazing food and a great family establishment. Cannot recommend enough. Portsmouth's best?
Early dinner with my wife. Ordered calamari which were OK, lasagne-ok but could do with a bit more flavour and a bit of better presentation and and some sea bass- wife was happy. To finish thatboff we enjiyed the tiramisu. Great thing about mains is that u will be stuffed as portions are generous
Great restaurant, staff is very chatty and pleasant, food is great, the fish is very fresh and very well done. If you want to try the real italian experience in Portsmouth that is the place for you! And I advice to try the mixed fried seafood as well as the lobster pasta!
