Delicious dining at a intermate and cosy restaurant set in the South Downs National Park. The menu here changes weekly and the chef Andy is passionate and this shows on the food. Every pairing is well thought out and every bite is a foodies dream. Beautiful.

With a birthday to celebrate & it being Hallidays 25th Anniversary, what better way, than to celebrate them together with fabulous food. As soon as you enter you're thinking ' this is nice', with the size, exposed beams and decor giving you that comfy, cosy feeling. We opted for the 3 course menu and struggled to make decisions as what to have - too many yummy things. Hallidays had made their own celebratory fizz - inc prosecco, chambord & a raspeberry- quaffable! Accompanied by home made cheese puffs and hand cut crisps, of course, both were top notch. Starters were the goats cheese tart & crab on toast - both winners for us. Main courses were beef fillet (cooked perfectly medium rare) & local monkfish. Puddings of apple tart (amazing presentation, never seen it served in that way) & salted caramel ice cream as well as chocolate torte with honeycomb. Both puddings were sublime, but think the tart won the day due to combination of the flavours & presentation. This restaurant has restricted opening days/times, so it's very much recommended to book in advance. Overall, this was a cracking meal in a friendly setting, one that I whole heartedly recommend.

We visited here for Sunday lunch and had the set menu option. 3 courses for a reasonable price per head. The quality of the food and service was great. We will definitely be back. Book in advance to as its a popular place and lots of returning customers. Parking is limited as it is in the centre of the village. Didnt take many pictures here but really enjoyed the Gamay Noir so thought I'd share.

The food here is outstanding. However this is where the the positives end. We were greeted extremely bruskly, not with a "hello" but with "name". Throughout the meal, you feel like you're an inconvenience. There is little atmosphere, and could really do with some background music. If you can deal with the poor service and lack of atmosphere, the food is worth it, but we won't be rushing back.

Excellent food which was beautifully cooked and served. Attentive service, two lovely beamed dining rooms in a pretty little building - all absolutely perfect. Looking forward to going back again and again.

Quality cooked food in a lovely family run restaurant, set in their house. We love it here.
