The staff, restaurant, are nice, we didnβt eat in the restaurant however a family member did, they found it very costly for breakfast Β£25pp not included in the room price. Our room no.14 had a strong smell of damp/mould, the bedding felt wet because it was so damp, the light from the footpath shone through the top of the curtain, these combined kept us awake.we couldnβt open a window due to noise from others on the footpath and the road. The heating didnβt come on until 8am and there was no way of turning it on. Rather chilly considering itβs December The top of the headboard was filthy as was the phone and lamps, covered in dust. To be honest you could stay in a travelodge for cheaper and be met with the same standard or room. Yes itβs pretty inside the restaurant with lovely outward looking views. However the room is overpriced,we wonβt rush back, and our family felt the same.

Only let down was the room, the radiators had been turned off and somewhere to work from had the wrong kind of desk & chair, also a bit cramped. thought it would have been better for the cost, Bathroom was nice with good shower and underfloor heating, Breakfast was really good, which kinda made up for it.

Long weekend visiting family in the area. First time to stay here and would come again. Despite being quite close to a busy road couldn't hear it in the rooms, being sat outside the bar is quite noisy but the cocktail were nice. Bed's were comfortable, shower hot and powerful, plenty of parking. WiFi unusable and poor signal from my provider, was nice to have less distraction aa the phone hardly works, fortunately I was wasn't here on business...

This hotel is in a good location as we were heading to Goodwood. We hadn't taken our dog with us but we chose a dog friendly room to see what it was like. It was quite small, but it was clean and had everything we needed, including a nespresso coffee machine. There was a wedding on so we were notified on checking in that we would not be able to eat in the main restaurant, but they have another restaurant just 700m away. I tried to book a table there, but it was fully booked, however the hotel was serving a bar menu, which was small but adequate. Staff were very friendly and helpful. breakfast buffet was small, but the food we had from the menu was very good, if a little bit pricey.

We booked a garden room as we were travelling with small dogs . When we arrived the chap on recipe room was very friendly and professional and showed us to our Russet garden room room 25 . Very well located right next to the car park so great for offloading our bits and pieces , on entry to the room the first impression was it was not clean it appeared grubby and not well maintained . We gave it the benefit of the doubt initially as we were very tired after a long drive from south wales . Maybe the room was supposed to appear rustic . On further inspection there were cobwebs everywhere and also spiders all over the place , we had to remove 4 spiders ( neither one of us particularly is fond of spiders ) this also put us off staying in the room and having a well deserved sleep . We understand that when a room is surrounded by nature and trees and such that you do get insects and spiders will come in however the cobweb that was attached to the lamp was so thick it was definitely one that had been there for some Time which made us think that maybe the room had not been used recently or the cleaning of the room was very questionable. I found a small white tablet on the floor of the room which concerned me greatly if one of my dogs had eaten it or a child has stayed and done the same this could have been very tragic as it was unidentified medication ! Again not much attention to detail when cleaning or preparing a room for guests ! Now we get to the bed β¦.. I think they seriously need to replacing the bed in room25 as it creaks and cracks when you place a bag on it let alone lay a human on it ! When you did very cautiously lay on it both of our legs felt elevated like the top end was going to collapse , lenses to say there was no restful sleep had at all . The rug was grubby and had seen better days and the cushions all has suspicious stains on them as did one of the bath towels . We were so disappointed we were only staying for 1 night and paid near Β£200 for the displeasure . I would not recommend anyone staying at Crouchers . The staff at breakfast were friendly and inviting and we did get something to eat at the cider house kitchen next door which was very nice . Do not stay here ! or if you do expect a very uncomfortable night in a grubby , dishevelled room , which needs a good clean and some new furniture.

Breakfast was definitely the highlight (five stars), and staff friendly and kind (five stars). The room on first floor was a bit of letdown (2 stars) and reason for low review, noisy and a bit cramped with sloping ceiling so head restriction. It was expensive so expected some half decent. There was a certain lack of privacy, the only door to the room was directly at the bottom of the bed and had gaps, right next to the corridor near the stairs. Just didn't feel very private and quite. Be careful walking along the road at night if you venture out.

Hotel ok, but restaurant massively too expensive for the served quality. We appreciate high value and tasty food, but this was far away from both. Service was bad and atmosphere too loud.

It was pretty much perfect. The room was well equipped and furnished - with a large, comfortable double bed and high quality duvet and bed linen - as was the bathroom with a large shower cubicle and excellent rain shower. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly and the food and service in the Potager restaurant were both impeccable. I particularly appreciated my hot breakfast, consisting of scrambled egg and smoked salmon, sprinkled with roasted, crumbled walnuts and capers and the decor throughout the public areas of the hotel was attractive and easy on the eye. I would strongly recommend the hotel.
