What a team at the Ashbourne!! The venue is so pretty and has a lovely garden! But what makes a venue is the team and they couldn't do enough. Would love to return again and photograph another wedding. Highly recommend!

The hotel had a beautiful cottage vibe and had very nice Christmas decorations. The restaurant was delicious. The room was clean. The reason why I removed a star is because there is no lift and the hotel staff does not help you carry your bags upstairs so I recommend you either bring more manpower or pack lightly.

Firstly this is no criticism of the staff(except one),they are hardworking but overworked. Secondly, the level of my rewards card is high ,so I have sampled lots of Best Westerns. Getting there was the first challenge as road was closed so we had to navigate muddy tracks,no warning from hotel. Room wasn't ready even past check in time.Sat in a small lounge which reminded me of a dark 1970s pub.Was offered 2 cups of tepid milk masquerading as flat whites. We was outside main building which means braving the weather to eat etc. Room was OK, not what I would class as executive.Room was hot, especially at night, bed was rock hard and created badly, quilt was far too warm.Shower could only be used by using one hand to hold it as bracket had broke. No blind in bathroom, and tiles had sealant all bodged round window.TV was too small wedged in a corner. Saving grace was the food, it was excellent and drinks at a reasonable price. As this hotel is aimed towards single workmen be prepared for shorts, baseball caps and expletives while your eating. Got this on a special deal, even so one night is enough. Go further up the A16 and try the Brackenborough instead.

We came here for Sunday lunch and it was exceptional in every possible way. From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a perfect afternoon. The staff were friendly, attentive and genuinely seemed to care that everyone was enjoying themselves โ€” nothing was too much trouble. The food was simply incredible โ€” beautifully presented, cooked to perfection and full of flavour. Every course was delicious, from the starters right through to dessert. You could really tell that quality ingredients and care had gone into every dish. The atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, with just the right balance between comfort and class. It felt like the kind of place where you could happily spend hours enjoying good food and great company. We left already planning our next visit. Easily one of the best Sunday lunches weโ€™ve ever had โ€” highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-quality dining experience.

We arrived and saw there was a wedding taking place and it would have been nice to be told about this when booking. We were travelling with a 1 year old who was awake til midnight due to loud music. Our room literally overlooked where the party was taking place. The room itself was very dusty, bedding dirty and lots of hair on it. Bathroom floor tiles are so dangerous with cracks all over and they were coming loose. Didn't complain as we were staying for 1 night what's the point. Absolutely wouldn't stay again and wouldn't recommend.

Nicest place I've stayed at in some time. Perfect location for the power station. Warm welcome, room lovely and the food was excellent. Best breakfast I've had in some time, staff were fantastic. One slight negative in the spirit of constructive feedback - a hotel this good should really have a bean to cup coffee machine or fresh coffee available at breakfast.

Lovely place! Ashbourne Hotel offers great accommodation with such a professional service! When staying there, you must try their restaurant! You can find a wide variety of breakfast and mouth watering fish and chips for dinner!

We had the most delicious winter themed afternoon tea! Friendly staff, nice warm comfortable rooms and the food is excellent! One room was set out for a wedding and it looked magical, would highly recommend.

First ever visit. My sister invited me to join her at her Christmas party. The meal was fantastic. There was Motown music being played along with some old favourites requested by revelers. I can say a good night was had by all

We had our Wedding at the Ashbourne - Amazing from organising to completing it. Rooms were good, nicely decorated. Breakfast was good (it did finish a bit early tho) but couldn't fault the service and food throughout our stay was beautiful. Would definitely stay again and recommend
