The owner’s lovely mother came and spoke to us about the history of the restaurant and we felt so welcomed and at home. I’ve tried other African restaurants in Hull, but nothing compares to the flavors and quality I get at Red Chilli. The food here brings me a real taste of home, and it’s consistently delicious. Every dish feels freshly made with just the right spices, and I can tell they care about maintaining that true Nigerian flavor. Their jollof rice, suya, and egusi are some of my absolute favorites. “Visited as a family of 5 and had a truly amazing evening ! Lively atmosphere, well thought-out decor and incredibly friendly staff made us feel right at home . Ordered a mixture of dishes and each nicer than the other, no question on quality of care or presentation. Not to mention the waiters going above and beyond to cater to our dietary needs. The experience matched the last one we had, glad to see they’ve upheld their high standards - looking forward to bringing some friends and visiting again soon, would highly recommend!”

“I ordered three pizzas, and I’ll admit, I’m always a bit sceptical because takeaway pizzas usually show up glistening like they’ve had an oil massage. These ones proved me wrong. No grease, great flavour, and they arrived piping hot. Even the doner kebab surprised me . Everything was packaged sensibly too: sauces separate, salad separate, nothing soggy or fighting for its life in the box. Overall, a very solid experience. Consider me officially converted into a regular.”

“Absolutely fantastic store for any Asian variety food, drinks or supplements very active on their Google page and very well priced items , highly recommend coming here if you are in hull and are in need of any Oriental supplies. Also do not be deceived by the outside because the inside is alot more spacious than you expected just going of the store front or images on google”

“Absolute must eat here! Fantastic food and drink! The food was great and very authentic. The staff spent time with us to talk, recommend foods and even the owner came out to give us wine recommendations, to which we ended up loving and buying the bottle! Such an authentic Italian with a great family atmosphere great for all occasions. We will be back, I cannot wait to try the pizzas next, the pasta dishes we ordered were perfect, cooked to PERFECTION! Cannot wait to be back!”

I hold this place close to my heart as it gives me memories of my great-grandmother's cooking except she's dead and I actually meant my grandfather except he doesn't cook but every now and then during visits he would arrive with a good bag of chinese that we'd split up on plates and gobble up. “My colleague and I went to Al Porto Italian restaurant on Thursday and were blown away by our food! The restaurant has a really nice, chilled out vibe, but still holds a level of class. I had the duck liver to start followed by the best risotto I've ever tasted. My colleague had the garlic prawns to start and the spaghetti carbonara for his main. All of the food was lovely”

“Honestly, it's one of the best Chinese I've ever had! Super tasty and authentic food, not too greasy and packed with flavour. Would definitely recommend the 'Chinese tea'. Only issue is that the portions were huge, so bring a good appetite!”

“managed to find everything that I needed which was mostly baking stuff apart from choc chips, but they may have just been out of stock. I got some doughnuts off the bakery which were gorgeous, most of the bakery stuff looked really good, they have a good freezer collection and plenty of fruit and veg, a good selection of tinned items and most other essential items.”

“This is a lovely M&S Simply Food Hall with a great little cafe. The cafe is always busy so we were lucky to find seats. Staff are lovely; coffee is good and the cafe is clean and tidy. I do love the way food is displayed and the seasonal displays leading up to Mothers Day and Easter. Fresh food always looks great and the bakery is particularly tempting. I also like the welcoming display of flowers in the entrance. Unlike many food stores there’s a good level of staff available and they are all super friendly and very knowledgeable about products.”

“These stores layout and smell always remind me of visiting mainland Europe. They have a fairly standard layout and carry a range of competitively priced own label and some branded goods. There bakery is very nice. They are not a one stop shop for all your items unless you taylor your purchases to the store availablity. Very large carpark accessed easily. Public transport via stop a short walk away on Hessle Road near the flyover. I think the stagecoach number 1 is the best option. The store accepts cash and card. It is one of the newer larger stores with in-store bakery and the usual central isle weekly offers. I like the occasional one off lines they have presumably from elsewhere in Europe”

“This is an excellent local takeaway, and deservedly very popular. I have used this takeaway over many years. The staff are very friendly and efficient. There is an extensive and varied menu. The food is excellent and good value for money. The chips are so much nicer than any of the big chain burger and chicken joints. They are always hot and you get twice as much for less money. I took this place for granted, I didn't realize how good it was until I went to some of the well known High Street fast food places. Spring cottage beats them all hands down.”

“On a nice Thursday evening in Hull we headed to a favourite spot of ours, Humber Street. We have been to Bert’s Pizza restaurant in Hull many times and had various degrees of success, but this was our first visit to Bert’s Pasta. It was amazing! We were welcomed by Jake and shown to a table with great views of Humber Street and the Marina. A bottle of house Red followed along with some house Rosé and we were left to read through the menu. A great variety of dishes on offer meant we took our time deciding but eventually ordered 1 Burrata & 1 Beetroot Carpaccio to start. This was followed by 1 Tagliatelle Alfredo, 1 Beef Pappardelle & 1 Tuscan Chicken Pappardelle along with sides of 1 Broccolini & a portion of Parmesan & Rosemary fries. To dust this all off we had 3 portions of Tiramisu. The flavours in these dishes were amazing and we will definitely be back the next time we visit Hull.
