“This place is under new management and is truly changed for the better, the new rotund boss has made some brilliant changes. Tom who resembles the jolly round butcher we all grew up with, has rebranded as a ‘Tea and sausage sandwich emporium’. You can come and enjoy your pot of lapsang suchong and bacon sarnie until late afternoon. The colourful range of local clientele also makes each visit similar to a visit to the zoo! Well worth a visit! Honestly the only coffee shop in town that is worth frequenting!”

“Brilliant local independent family run, proper old skool pub for drinkers. I'm lucky to live right opposite. Great atomosphere, always friendly. Nice seating area at the front. Very reasonable prices. Try it out! There is no food here, but some snacks and small bites sometimes. Now has a nice garden area at the back.”

They have a unique lineup of beers, especially the IPAs, which were some of the best I’ve had in a while. “We visited here on a Saturday around 3pm for a celebration dinner. We booked in advance for inside seating. There is outside seating which is perfect on a sunny date as right next to the river. The staff were very welcoming and helpful with their recommendations for food and drinks. We all opted for three courses, they do have weekend set Menus which is worth a look. All the meals arrived in perfect timing, they gave enough time between each meal so it wasn’t rushed. Everything was cooked beautifully and a really enjoyable meal. We will definitely be visiting again!”
